Is Affiliate Biz Still Work?

well, this just a simple question. Affiliate was a great model for online biz, and personally i think it still is. But, is it really still work for you guys? since i've read an article that said this model was a bit outdated now (and yes he earned big)? And that man wrote at the end of his article, what's next ?

True affiliate programs are free. That is part of their attraction. There are no costs to you and thessshould also be risk free. Any Web marketing programs that demands your money is not an affiliate program. You should ask yourself why they are misrepresenting themselves this way if they are legitimate.
