Do you use a clothes hanging line or a dryer for your clothes?

Most families that have a dryer in their homes may not have tried using a clothesline, but it also depends on where you live. if you live in a rural area that would probably be best for using the sun to dry your washing machine clothes. I have used a outdoor clothesline and it was an adjustment, because I had to wait longer for my clothes to dry but they did come out fresh smelling, I want to try it again, what about you which do you prefer?

Hello marketlresearch,
I still use clothes lines have some in the basement when it rains and have them outside. My daughters love using clothes dryer for simple fact it faster and you could put in the bounce sheets make your clothes softer and smell better. I like feel of clothes from the sunshine on hot days.
Thanks and Have a great night

I have tried both ways and I find that drying your clothes especially towels outside they don't come out soft at all. Know matter how much softner you put in the water. That is why I rather use the dryer. Especially here in New Mexico its not a place to hang clothes outside due to the wind and sand outside. It's not always winding but you can never tell when a gust of wind will come along. I love my wash to be fresh and soft and hanging it outside doesn't produce that at all.

A clothesline as it's far more environmentally friendly and they feel a lot nicer when dried in the sun!

I always use a clothes hanging line because it is summer and we don't need a dryer not unless we really need to use that cloth. Anyway, I do have an ample space to hang those washed clothes. I also do have clothes hanging line inside, but it is only for the clothes that were almost dry and not dripping.
I don't like to keep wet clothes inside because they do get a smell. But when it was dried outside, it is really good. If its rainy season, that's the time we use our dryer and clothes hanging line and hangers inside.

My family dry our clothes using a clothesline, although we have a dryer. Our dryer is a newly-bought,my mother has not been used to it,so she prefer a dry line.We use the dry only in cases that the weather is raining or cloudy or when it will take too long to dry.

I have tried to get my husband to put a clothes line outside, but he would not do it. So I had been hanging clothes over chairs, etc. outside as our budget did not allow us to buy one of those umbrella type ones for the outside. I have been using a clothes dryer or if it was warm, also hanging some over the chairs in the basement, which of course, was what I had to do when the dryer went on the blink.
Now that he is not that well -has als - I might try to get someone to put out a clothes line for me. Unfortunately we have to also fix up the back yard and that is going to cost at least $6,000.
It would have been easier for him to say okay I will put on a line when we first moved in.

Hi
I am using the cloths lines for drying the cloths. Now the temperature is so high and it won’t take much time to dry the cloths naturally. I am using the dryer only in winter. You are right if the cloths dry under the sun is having its own quality.

We don't really have a dryer so we hang our clothes outside- the sun dries them easily. I prefer hanging it outside because in a clothes dryer the smell of the dryer is absorbed by the clothes-most of the times.

I love using a clothes line... we have a dryer and we do also use it but I really prefer the clothesline... Not because of the freshness but because it helps my electric bill and I live Texas so the weather is always HOT HOT HOT... then 2 weeks of winter... lol... but even tho its really hot outside when you hang the clothes, its better to do it outside because the dryer puts off even more heat inside then your dying inside...ugh... but I would prefer a clothesline because im cheap..

I always liked to hang my clothes out on the clothes line because they always dried and smelled so fresh. But in the long run a dryer is easier and in the winter time it is hard to dry them. But to awnser your question I prefer a clothes line.
