We used to have a cat a couple of years back, unfortunately he died. My dad said he was probably hit by something, we were fortunate enough to lay him to rest. Now I miss having a cat around the house they can be pretty handy around the house.
I'm really thinking of buying one but I see some cats roaming around the streets would you recommend that I adopt one to save money?

Why would you buy a cat, when there are so many stray cats on the street. I think that with so many animals abandoned why would anyone buy a pet, when you can provide a home, shelter, food, and most of all, love to an animal that will thank you for the rest of your life for rescuing it from the streets?

How do you know these cats you see 'roaming' don't belong to some one. I would never buy a cat from a pet shop, although we use to have a pet shop that gave away unwanted cats free with the purchase of their food, etc. I got a cat from our local animal shelter that was spayed and declawed. Her adoption fee was $50. It has taken her 2 years to accept us. Now she is friendly and loving but up to a couple months ago she was very aloft and distance from us. Good luck on what ever you decide.

Zenki are you joking , or are you serious about asking that kind of question? Of course you should adopt a cat , shelters are full of cats and dogs waiting for a warm home. Every year millions of cats are being euthanize in the shelters, and you can save one of them! Or of course how you wish , going to s pet store and buy a cat too. But good luck on either of them!!!

You will be helping more stray cats if you adopt them, and at the same time you save money because you didn't have to buy from pet shops.
Just make sure it gets proper care, food, shelter, vaccines and vitamins. They too have needs.

I have adopted cats right off the street, but doing so can be just as costly. When you buy a cat at a shelter you also get one years worth of shots, and usually a free spay or nurter (depending on the gender of the cat) which can be very pricy if you have to do it yourself (depending on the vet you use.) So in the long run, you have to look at costs.
You'll need food, water, liter, possibly coller/leash, possible declaw(if you want) (lifetime of shots, and or spay/nuter (if you get one off the street.) Add that up, and you are looking at spending a pretty penny too for all of that.
While its ideal to get a stray, (since shelters are overloaded) you have too look at your options too. What can you aford, pets aren't cheep.
