Is There a Movie Villian You Wish Had Been Saved?

Is there any movie villians you felt sorry for; wish had been saved? I was thinking about the Sandman character in Spiderman 3; He was involved in Peter Parker's Uncle's death, and was caught in a freak accident which turned him into the Sandman guy. However, he was only robbing the bank in an effort to save his daughter. I felt sorry for the character. How about you? Are they any villians you felt bad for?
