Where do you get most of your inspiration to write? Mine seems to hit just as I'm falling asleep! I have to keep a pen and notepad next to my bed to jot my thoughts down. If I don't, I cannot remember them at all the next day. I think inspiration hits like that b/c my mind is free and relaxed at that moment. How about you?

oh, I get lots of inspiration while laying in bed....then I do nothing about it! I was just going through my friends here, and realized that I didn't have notify set to on for you. I do now, so what you post will come to my email and I can keep up with you better. Marsha

I think my inspiration comes when I am asleep and just when I am about to wake up. I might have thought about it during the day but then the main inspiration comes when I sleep and i get all excited about it.

I know what you mean about getting excited with a new idea! For me, if I don't jot something down, I will only remember a little bit of the original thought. My days are so busy it's easy for my writing to go on the back burner.

I think I should take that tip from you, get a notebook to jot down my ideas! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

if we could consider mylotting as writing, which is the only online work i have this time, you could see who i get my strength from, my inspiration. of course, it's my family but above all of them, it is my youngest son who gives me a lot of strength and inspiration to keep me writing. in hope to earn more online so that whatever earnings i got here will be added to the very little amount of earnings i am getting from my regular job. so that i can provide for them. so that i can have additional budget for his medication.

Ironically when i was rating articles in Helium. Either the title is so thought-provoking that I could not help thinking about it or the articles were so badly written that I could not help getting angry. The minute my blood started to boil, I could think of many things to say. This method applies to non-fiction writing. I usually do not do fiction, since the income for fiction is so low.

I understand what you mean about writing fiction; the income is low unless you can write a whole book! Sometimes I feel like every idea has been written about, you know? But I go at it anway. To make up extra money, I proof read scripts and other pieces for some of my friends who are into writing fiction. It's fun and I get a sneak peek before anyone else!

Mine seems to pop up anytime then everytime that happens I'll tell it to friends to remind me about it or text it into my cellphone to remind me.

Texting the ideas and writing prompts/thoughts into a cell phone via note or text is a great idea.... I will have to give that try in the future.. it would save paper! :)

Yes it really would save a paper although limited thoughts only. texting it in the cellphone would be nice since mine was always with me and it can be really handy and private.

I usually get my ideas from books that I've read or from the movies and television programs. You know, the usual stuff. There are also the unconventional sources. One is the tarot cards. I don't use it for precognition but to get an idea for a short story. Cloud formation also, just by using your imagination you can conjure stories but make sure you have a pen and paper ready. Happy myLotting! :)
