For you, which is more important- cellphone or internet?

This afternoon, I was faced with this question and believe me, it wasn't that easy to provide an answer. Before, I used to think I can't live without my cellphone, it's definitely a NECESSITY. Nowadays though, THE INTERNET has also started playing a major role in our daily activities and some people cannot survive without it. How about you? If you were to choose only one between the two, which would you choose- your CELLPHONE LINE or your INTERNET LINE? Care to explore WHY?

This is a real tough one. The internet provides means to make extra money and thus it's important. Wherein the cellphone is also important as it's used to contact people when out of the house. If I had to choose I would choose the internet as I would rather not be able to get online then to be out somewhere and breakdown and need to call someone but no cellphone to do it with.

In my county, I believe cellphones are more important then the internet. There are many places here wherein if we were to break down we would need knock on a person's home door to ask for assistance. We live in the country.

This is absolutely true in comparing CP and internet. When you are somewhere out and where there is no internet line and you need help, you will find the cellphone a life-saver. :) Here in our country, there are still more cellsites to cater the need of cellphone holders than the internet base stations to serve clients who are craving for internet lines. Therefore, the cellphone coverage is still much wider than that of the internet. Even if you bring the laptop with you 24 hours a day, since the whole country is not a WIFI zone, you will find a lot of places where you can't go online. But of course, most people now really earn their living via the internet. Therefore, they cannot pay for their cellphone use if they don't have internet lines too. LOL

Seriously, hmm, difficult to chose one. I need the net alot and I cant imagine my life with the net which is like my second home from my single room. The cellphone I need to be in touch with friends and love ones. Interestingly, with the cellphone, I can access the internet and with the internet I can still be in contact with my friends...sooooo.... Impossible to drop one, they are interrelating.... Good One!!!

I choose the cellphone it is a very usable thing to me checking all my kids and call for some important things to be told to my partner and daughters. It is a necessity to where I am selling a small amount of loads to other prepaid users. And I love to do it daily while I am at work and easily send information because it is portable and easy to bring. When you call anytime it is there in the bag always.

This is the first time I heard a mylot user also earns via selling prepaid load for cellphones. And I think this is one really good reason to choose the cellphone over the internet because aside from your personal usage, you also earn directly from using your cellphone. I do earn transactions from my cp too and this results to more clients and sales for me. We are on the same boat friend. Thanks for sharing and have a great day! :)

I can only say Cellphone. It gives you access to your contacts from anywhere or anytime, vice versa. Internet contact cannot be mobile. With new generation cellphones this is also possible. So clearly, first priority is cell phone.

Thanks for sharing! We're on the same team - cellphone. It's our partner in life and we still can't sacrifice it for the internet although as time changes.. we wouldn't know how far internet can go too to extend its services where cellphone companies have reached far for its clients. Happy mylotting and have a nice day! :)

ya it is also a correct solution in the thought but it is not so easy to communicate very fast so that it is really so hard in the topic..there will be a better topic and i think there will be an improved in the tech so that both will be combined and it is going to change the world..there will be a better things we have to check it around...have fun...

aww !! ..tough question . Both are important for me . Both have special uses in different ways . I love phone because I can talk with anuone at any place . It can really help us in urgent situations . Internet , nice place to interact with people all around the world . I use internet for mainly earning money as I am still a school kid . Internet is also a place for fun . I can play fifa10 with a man from England through Internet . Yes phone as limited features , but they are useful . So , I would consider both as equal . For broadband users , it will obviously be pgone as internet for them comes from phone . Anyways happy mylotting and have a nice day !!

This is actually like cheating since I was asking for only one answer - the cellphone or the internet. But I will have to accept your response since you are not alone (meaning, there are a lot of cheaters here???- Joke!!!) in this decision to choose BOTH. LOL This only shows how advanced technology has become part of our lives and it is very, very difficult to give up any one because we have come to be so dependent on them already. Thanks for sharing and have a great day too! :)

Since I don't have and have never had a cellphone, I would have to say the Internet is more important to me. I spend a lot of time on it doing many varied things of which Mylot is only a very small part.

Wow! This is the first time I heard of a techy person who doesn't have a cellphone. Some people don't have cellphones because they can't afford one, they don't know how to operate it, or they don't need one in their regular activities in life, but definitely, they wouldn't have internet line too for the same reasons mentioned. To surf the net and not use a cellphone.. that is NEW to me really. Thanks for your response. :)

For me cell phone is most important. I don't use net for many purposes. Just to get some news and information I use internet.Cellphone as you said is a necessity. I can't imagine my life without cell phone. It is the only way of connecting with my friends, family. If I have to choose between cell and net I prefer cell phone.

Goes the same for me actually. Like I said, I can't imagine my life without it, it's a necessity both for my personal and professional life and I therefore can't lose it. But I'm glad I also have this chance to enjoy the internet whenever I want to, like now when I'm joining discussions and learning new things from mylot. Thanks for your response and God bless you. :)

I could libe without a cellphone. Ther internet is a different story. Everyone in my family enjoys being online throughout the day. We all have different sites that we like to participate in. I'm afraid if there was no internet, there would be ssome disappointed family memberss to contend with.
• Philippines

At least you share a common interest in the family. That's a good thing since nobody gets left behind when you talk about new topics about the internet over dinner or on your family time. Just make sure you all have your own pc or laptop or else it can also spell disaster when you have to share it. :) Thanks for the response and have a nice day! :)

For me it would be my cellphone line. Why? It's because I can still chat and access the net through my phone. Another reason it's more important to me is because I'll be able to bring my phone anywhere I go. In case of emergency I'd always be able to reach out to someone for help unless the battery will be drained or I'll be stuck in a place without signal. Happy Mylotting! :)

Thanks for the response Ladyslipper! We share the same reasons why we prefer the cellphone over the internet. Happy mylotting and have a great day! :)

I would say cell phone. I can always text information. The internet cannot contact me in my car, in the shower, restroom, or any other area that it is not available in. Don't get me wrong I like my internet but I can do without it if I needed to. It is not a necessity to use daily or weekly.
• Philippines

Same here newtalent. :) I also don't use the internet on a daily basis but I feel incomplete when my cellphone's battery gets drained and I don't have a spare one. I don't feel comfortable when I accidentally leave it at home and I'll need to call time and again to check if anybody called or sent any text message. But of course I also enjoy using the internet for my personal reasons. Thanks for the response. :)

Hi thersdae_me, infact both are important to me. Both are having similar advantage nowadays because of the technical advancement. Whatever information you want you will get it. And useful to chat or talk anywhere or anyplace throughout the world.

Yes it's true actually and I find that the responses are almost equal on both sides. If there are many cellphone users, then there are as well many internet-dependent people here in mylot. Thanks for the response and have a nice day. :)

Nowadays, this two high tech devices is very much needed in communication. If I am going to choose the two, I will not choose because this two is connected to my life already, because were now facing high technology. I cant live w/out my cp, I cant also live without internet. I need this two...

Don't worry vavhing123... you're not alone, some respondents have the same sentiment- they can't choose only one, the answer is BOTH. You're lucky you can afford them both because some people can really only have one of the two since it's costly to maintain both. Thanks for the response and happy mylotting! :)

As for me they have become both a necessity and a need. mobile phones for contacts at the same time internet connection for my transactions here and abroad. Since i do my banking transactions through the net so it is more important for me. So it basically means for me that no internet then no money.
• Philippines

Yeah, I also thought of that- online earners will definitely choose the net over the cellphone since if they don't have internet line, then they have no source of income. I have also met some clients who already stopped working on regular jobs and are now purely dependent on earnings from online jobs. For me though, I still can't see any online job that will provide me with a regular and stable income so I have to go to my regular work at the office. I just use the internet for some other personal transactions. Thanks for joining the discussion and thanks for the response. Good day! :)

I prefer the internet to the cell phone.Though the latest cell phones have most features of a computer.I like the internet for the amount of information one gets out of it.It has wider utility when compared the cell phone. If given a choice between the two i'd rather go for internet than a cellphone.

Hey that's true... but... do you always bring your laptop with you even when you go outside to just attend a party? Not all our family and friends use the internet to contact us, but most of them use cellphones as means of communication to get in touch... don't they? Have you ever had the chance to spend a day without your CP? ... am not arguing promise! :) Thanks much for the response. :)

hell0! I guess that for me the most important thing of them both is the internet, because if i have an internet connection then I am connected with all the people that I want to communicate with and I actually don't need a phone, especially if i buy some skype credits

Here in our country, the cellphone provides a cheaper way of communications. Texting messages can be subscribed for unlimited use with minimal charge. Calling charges have the same principle. And not all people can afford to buy a computer or a laptop, much more to subscribe to internet accounts. But of course, things might be different in your place. That's why I thank you for your response. (I learned something new again.) Happy mylotting friend! :)

I don't know but what both of stuff has a related conection that can not be separated, nowaday almost cellphone provided with internet features, so if we can use both things that built in one part, why we must choose?

Actually this question popped up to me when a client has to choose which bill to pay. He has both a postpaid cellphone line and a postpaid internet line. Both accounts were disconnected today due to unpaid bills. His available money can only pay for the minimum payment required of one account and he could not decide which to pay since he has important transactions both on his cellphone and internet accounts. He claims he will have to wait for another payroll before he can settle the other account but it was very difficult for him to choose because he will not be able to use one account should he choose not to pay it. :(

Yes, in terms of functionalities, the internet weighs more... but what about in terms of usage? For people who work online, the internet is indispensible but for regular businessmen and the likes, transactions are usually carried out via the cellphone conversations alone. Obviously though, you are more of the internet person. :)
