I am really ditsy sometimes and for the life of me I cannot think of what I'm trying to say, I just can't get the words out. I use many words to try and convey to my husband what I want him to know, or pass me or whatever, I say thingy, whatchamacallit, that, this, the uh eh thing, lol. That's all I can think of right now. So what about you? What do you call it, when you can't think of the name?

I call them thingumybobs.
My father in law used to call them doo dahs.
A man at work called them doobries and my dad used to call them whatsits.
I think we all have a word we use.

I use the word thingy quite a lot actually for this short memory lapse. It just so frustrating when your in the midst of a conversation and you forget. My mother in law does it constantly expecially with people names, infact I'm convinced that she does it on purpose!

LOL I like this discussion question!
I'll be like 'Mom, have you seen my...um...thingamajig?"
"What thing?"
"I don't know...it looks like...well, um..."
Or, "You know, that thing! That...what's it called..."
