It may directly or indirectly affect your health if you will be sitting in a chair for a long period of time. Your half body part may be moving but your other half body part needs also to be moving. I suggest you to have stretching works every 2 hours and have a time to stand and walk for awhile to keep your blood circulation in the body in proper places. Also, make your body breathe some air and have those motor actions in your body to move as well otherwise, you will suffer from back pain or discomfort while and after sleeping.
Aside from your works even at home to be productive in your own ways. Having a healthy living by exercise and comforting your body is the best offer you can give for yourself too.
Happy mylotting.

Well, like every thing else, too much is bad. Sitting and keeping your eyes pressured and stressed too much is has terrible consequences. There was once when I was watching a TV magazine show, and it featured the disease called Slip Disc. It's main cause is sitting all the time and not moving often. It's kinda scary because when it happens it's not easily cured. And stressing your eyes for so long causes headaches, that's why I can not keep my eyes glued on the computer monitor for so long or read an entire book for just minutes. We should know how to do everything in moderation.

you already know the answer. otherwise, why do you pose such a question.
Yes. It is bad to sit in a chair for long time. Be it for playing online, or reading or chatting, or whatever. Don't you know, we keep moving even in sleep. There is nothing in reality like 'sleeping like a log'.
So, keep moving. Or, better still, take breaks. Walk about, go to the balcony, have some fresh air, drink more fluids and water. Keep exercising.
good luck

As the old adage goes,"too much of everything is harmful". If you spend too much time on the computer, first and foremost, it will have a big impact on your vision. Alot of children nowadays suffer from vision problems because of prolonged exposure to computers. This is also true on reading. As I have quoted, what is too much, is not healthy anymore.
Constant lack of physical mobility is not good for our health. It is one of the culprit for diabetes, hypertension and some other cardio-related diseases.
I suggest you limit your time on the computer and find ways to mobilize yourself.

i have to sit in a chair for along time since I'm always at the computer too- or watching television.I also think it isn't healthy so I think we have to exercise and do chores. There are many things that we can do at home- we just have to keep busy..
