I give 4/5 stars. It has an amazing cast, very unusual camera work/angles, and a compellling villain (which is rare, IMO). I'm still not sure how Watson survives a huge explosion at mid-movie... but I really enjoyed the wrap-up at the end of the movie that explains where all of the seemingly magical crimes were carried out.

It was one hell of a tremendous movie and certainly helped revive the Sherlock Holmes series that, in my opinion, had grown quite stale and unpopular. Downey Jr. practically nailed the role with his original and quirky re-boot of the iconic sleuth, and the villian, lord blackwood was genuinely sinister.
A 5/5 film that I find myself watching time and time again

I would rate 5/5... I really enjoyed the move a lot... especially the climax scene, the club fight scene.

I saw this film at the cinema last December and absolutely loved it. I thought that it was a great mix of action, humour and cinematography.
I thought it was a bit over the top too when he survived that explosion, but movies are not supposed to be realistic all the time are they!
I thought that the ending left us hanging a bit as if they are planning to make a sequel to it. That would not surprise me at all. I hope that they do.

The movie was great. I also loved the explanation at the end. I liked holmes' tenacity and cunning which they highlighted very well in the movie. I also loved the effects especially in the part where they accidentally let loose of the ship. Very well done.
