Slumdog Millionaire

Last weekend, while I was changing TV channel, I came across a familiar movie which really moved my heart when I first saw it two years ago. The movie is entitled "Slumdog Millionaire". I couldn't resist watching it again even if it entailed me to sleep very late that night. I finished watching the movie without me being bored . . I really love that movie . If I have a chance to see that movie again, I am sure I will not hesitate to watch it again. Have seen this movie too?

Yes, I have seen this movie and loved it. I saw this movie long back when it got released in India, I remember it was 3rd day and I struggled to get ticket for night show. I have not seen any movie again in theatre and do not wish to do so, may be I can watch it on dvd or Tv but not again in theatre.

I do like watching movies in theatre and I watch mst of the movies in theatre but just once. I do not go to watch a movie twice in the theatre. I know there are people who have watched certain movies 15-20 times in theatre, I am not that crazy about movies watching in theatre.

why don't you like to watch movies again in theaters? because of movie tickets getting higher or you just don't like theaters at all? there's a lot of good movies now. well,as for me i don't have time and money watching movies at theaters.and i also enjoyed much more watching here at our house dvd's.or if i'd like to sneek peek the trailer of such movie,i'll do it here online. i've tried watching online movies also but it takes longer time just by watching,it makes me work shorter hours here in the house,so for me it's better to watch it on dvd's or tv!

oh,i get it! i thought you were saying not to watch movie in theater like other movies! i only watch movies in theater only once like you! and if i want to watch it over again i'll buy dvd of that movie and watch it at home! i don't know why there were people who try to watch one movie in theater when they were just wasting time and money for that, how many times? yeah, they're crazy if there watching it 15-20 times!

Yeah. The concept is good but still the typical western concept of 3rd world countries lurking everywhere. The only place to see in India is the slums, the only thing that interests them is the riots between hindu & muslims. Though all the new comers have performed well but due to this pre considered concept about India by the western countries like slums, flies, riots, poor sanitation, gang war, snake charmers, beggars, poverty etc. the movie has less attraction to me.

The negative concept about India is the only thing that makes one worry about. But if you look at the whole movie, the movie is good. . .

I agree with you Theresaaiza. . . We have seen many movies that depicts or shows the negative side of the Philippines which are actually happening .. . The slum areas in the Philippines are favorite shooting sites of Westerners but the Filipino are still proud of it knowing that the scene was taken from our country . . It is the story of the movie that counts most.

I never said it's a bad movie. It's concept is unique but the choking philosophy of westerners about India is that what distracts me from the movie.

Well, the plot of the movie is patterned after the TV show Who wants to be a Millionaire . .. . Maybe you have seen a lot of movies that you have not remembered it.

I have seen the movie once. Yes, wonderful. It did give me a glimpse of India. Although the scenes showed the poor and hard-up side of the country, I still believe that it is a beautiful place.

India is a nice place. In fact, it is one of the places in Asia which I want to visit. I want to experience riding their trains, even if it is too cramped.

hi dorisday! i also loved the slumdog millonaire movie. i've watched it in dvd and that was long time ago. but i can also say it's a very wonderful and very touching movie.to fight for your love,to do everything just to see again your long lost love, even if someone's blocking your way. i think being in slums is really hard. here, in the philippines there were also like them who struggles everyday life in the streets. someone have to be strong to fight hunger. you'd do everything to make money. and fight for the love of your life. well, being in a game show also is a struggle for him.accusing him as a cheater and bring electricity to him such a bad thing for gameshows,do you think, there's really that kind of things in gameshows? the party at the ending is a moment to be happy! oh, i remembered the child actors there did have payment for that film and it became a news then, the director i guess felt hooked up to the situation but have nothing to do than pay the child actors! i guess in india it's very hard to live there!

I am actually not a movie fanatic but I don't know why this movie hit me. I usually sleep in the middle of the movie but this movie is different. I watched it from the start until the end.

I saw this movie two years ago too. It was so good and deserved the Oscar for best picture. I loved how it kept you on the edge of your seat and the love story between the two main character. The ending was great when they were all dancing in the streets. I love the music and the dancing of this movie so much. If I see it on TV I would definitely watch it again. Its a movie that is worth watching again.

Wow you are so lucky to watch it on T.V. I haven't yet to catch it on T.V. where I am from. I have heard many great things about this movie. I know that it won an Oscar for Best Movie and Film. I will be on the look out for it when they do decide to show it as a T.V. movie.

At first, one may think that it is the typical Bollywood movie but once you start watching, you would certainly say that it deserves an Oscar. Nice movie.

I saw this movie at the cinema and it was brilliant. It definitely deserved the Oscar and it is nice that the kids got some moeny and fame out of it. I loved how it was directed and the plot was beautifully woven to keep the viewer gripped. The soundtrack is magical and I would also watch it again.

I watched this movie only once until now and as an indian i would have expected the director to show the best than to concentrate on the slums in mumbai. The songs are great and donno why but it isn't a great movie for me and for many of us frankly. All other countries loved it so much and it was quiet popular and still it is .for me it is one of the Good indian movies---there are thousands of awesome movies which stand out compared to this one.great day.

I have seen the movie one year before .It is really fantastic.I belive the same fate we will face in our daily life.It also balance between the thing you lose and the thing you get .However i feel really sorry for the man in the movie who gave up his belief because of his mother. He did not see the miracles of god.

I watched the movie when it was on theater . It was a very nice movie. It won large no. of oscar awards too. Including the award to best film and director. The cast is very good. The cinematography is excellent. The sound was mixed using all the natural sounds really recorded from the slums of mumbai. No artificial sounds were used. It is a very heart touching story and the climax is also very good
