We always hear that if we love someone we have to do everything for him or her. Did you experience bringing your love ones to a hospital and the doctor told you that he or she has to be placed in Intensive Care Unit (ICU)? Here in our country, when one is admitted in the ICU, you can expect of tremendous financial obligations. Most of the times, the family gives up. Even if they wanted to save the life of their love ones and after selling most of their properties, they eventually give up and end in crawling because of financial circumstances. I want to know how much can you do for your family?

I find this very sad that other countries make their citizens pay directly for medical care. Here in Canada we don't have that problem. We have a system, where, if you are a citizen, or a landed immigrant (legal status) then you get a "Health Card" issued to you. That card will grant you free healthcare, for whatever you need. Almost everything. A few minor things are not covered, but basics are covered. Especially emergency treatments.

That is nice to know. There are government hospitals in our country. The doctors fee are usually free but you have to buy medicines and all materials needed for the treatment. Unfortunately, those who are in poverty line could not buy even the basic materials to be used.

I will not sell everything for a loved one. I just won't do it. Even if I could do it I couldn't get money for all my things.

Maybe that's practicality. I understand. When everything will be lost, the whole family will get affected as well.
