Don't it seem when you have more money, you spend more money?

I have a little bit extra money in my checking and savings. And it seems like I spend more money than when I actually was watching my budget closer. And, in a way, it depresses me because I do feel like since I have that extra money, I can't seem to save as well. But, on one hand with it, I'm able to catch up on a few bills with the help of it and my normal paycheck. So, I'm wondering if you'all have had the same experience with money and finanaces.

Yep, I do.. the more that I earn, the bigger are my expenses, so in the end, I don't really save much. I think my savings is just right for those months that I don't have that much income and I have to pay a lot of bills. It is really frustrating, and I have done a lot of things to offset my expenses, but it's a trial and error and I have yet to create the perfect way for me to save just enough money for my future.

hell0 there! well, i guess it is so, but we must actaully know when it is proper to spend more and when it isn't, because sometimes we have more money than other times, and we spend them for some useless things, which i think it is not right and we should better save those money for something more important and for some cases when we will need more money in order to buy something. I only spend more when I have more, in cases when i raelly need something and prefer to buy it now and not later. in all other cases I prefer to savethe money for something later!

I do believe that if i have more money, i will spend more money. We are often freer with our money when we know we can afford to be a little bit frugal. It's hard to save when you are a good spender.

As far as I am concerned, I think it does the same with what you have said to me that when people have a lot of money in there pocket, they will as much as they can.For me, I think it is the same. When I have more money, I think I will spend more. When I have little, I think I will spend as litle as possible , in order I can have some food to eat.

I don't. I have learned by experience that you don't need everything you think you need. When I moved from a 4 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom apt..I got rid of so much stuff cuase I didn't have room in the apt. I didn't miss any of those things! Now I think, what should I buy and I think...don't need anything..bank that cash! IF it is your checking account and since you see it and have the urge to spend it...take it out of the checking account and put it in a savings account or your matress or some where where you don't see it for it to be so enticing! Watch that savings grow! Even make it a Christmas Fund!

I actually don't do too bad about spending wisely until I have to spend money to buy groceries on the weekend. We are rarely ever home during the week. My wife usually goes to her dad's house most weeknights, because I am usually working at one job or another. However, I just went to the store, and I spent $75 at one store, and probably $12 at another store. I had to buy food for tonight, and I also had to buy a few other things like razor blades, shampoo, and the vitamins I take daily. I also had to buy dog food and dog treats. The razor blades and vitamins alone were almost $30. The dog food and treats were about $15. The rest of the money was spent pretty much on one meal, although I did buy a couple of boxes of cereal (they were buy one get one free) and some milk. I actually spend less money when I am not at home than I spend on my days off. Maybe that is why I have learned not to take too many days off. LOL

Yeah I guess. Even if there's not much too spend, we tend of thinking anything else that we might need so we end p spending more than what is budgeted. Nevertheless, we stil manage to spare some money in case something comes up.

It is true. The more we have, the more we spend. I know a family that has a sufficient amount of funds proded that they have no children and they can provide expensive food, house and 4 cars and they are always talking about money and that they need more. It is so annoying. Don't listen what people say, just look at what they are doing. If I had a million I would want one more and then 2 more and so on...most of the cases we need more and more....

I KNOW THAT FEELING! That's exactly how I feel! It's like, when you get some extra money, you suddenly realize you NEED to buy something or another that's absolutely essential, or maybe something happens that puts you back in the same predicament where you were before. When my eldest brother opened up a business that paid well, I thought I could relaw a bit now. But no, he went and got married so I couldn't ask him to help out anymore. When I got a new job that paid more than the old one, I thought I would be able to put away some money, but that wasn't the case. My other brother quit his job so I was the only one earning in the family, that meant I didn't have any excess... AGAIN. That has always been the case for me. When something good happens, I'm almost sure that something will not go as planned again.

hi Steinway!Every time when my roommates and i are back from going out shopping,we regret and complain that we have spent more money than we budgeted. And the more money we have, the more we spend. What's worse, the next time we go shopping,it seems that we have forgotten the regret we felt last time, namely,we still spend more than we budget. One of my roommates once tried not to bring any money with her and went to the street, you know what? She still spent some money. She borrowed! So you see,we have the same experience with money.
