What colors?

I am starting a new venture making jewelry. I am a earth tone lover and tend to gravitate towards those colors but I know many other people are not liking them as much. So I was wondering what colors do people look for when they are out looking for jewelry? I am doing mostly anklets right now and some bracelets and book marks. I plan to move on though to some more intricate items as I become better at what I am doing. So what colors?

I go for burgundy jewels and pink. It does depend on what I am going to wear and so forth. I don't care for clashing stuff or too loud. Anklet sound interesting. I used to wear them when I was younger but my ankles are too wide for them now days. I like earth tones too but it really deprends and since I wear alot of pink and burgundy I like browns and greys to wear with them or the same color. I love grey too because it tends to go with just about anything and look nice.

Right now, spring/summer colors are popular. I sell a lot of light blues, aquas, light greens and teals right now. I try to keep many colors available in my shop though...you never know what a potential customer is looking for. But right now, I concentrate on the colors that sell best for me in the warm weather.

I sell authentic sea glass jewelry. I live near the beach, so I'm able to go often, and I also trade with sea glass collectors from all over the world. That allows me to get several different "looks" to my jewelry. I have a shop on Etsy.com (a few of my jewelry creations can be found in my myLot profile) and I also sell at craft fairs and in a couple gift galleries (consignment.

all of them, I'm not a big fan of pink or yellow, but others like them, so make all of them.

I want to but it is hard when starting out to buy everything at once. I am trying to slowly build up both a stash and a clientele. No point in the stash if there is no one to buy the stuff. Thanks.

well, true, buy those colors that people seem to like the most - blues, greens, reds, purples - just a few at first and then any money you make buy more of that color and a few of another

I really like cute and colorful jewelry. I made my first bracelet last night and used different color cat head lampwork beads(red, blue, white, green, and purple) and black glass beads. It turned out really good as long as you don't look too closely at the ends. I'm going to have to continue practicing.

Ha ha ha no matter how hard you try there will always be an end your not happy with, a loop that's a little crooked or not quite round. I have driven myself crazy at times trying to make them perfect. I like the lamp work and millefiori beads too they are so interesting and none the same.

Hi, try using a different array of colors. Most like to match up their accessories with what they are wearing other would like to use loud and bright colors when they wear plain colored clothes. So it would be nice if you play with the colors. At time it is even nice to mix and match colors that do not go together for it makes a difference. Like pink and green, yellow and blue, blue and brown. Be imaginative and I know people will like what you made. Godbless!!!

I am also into fashion accessory designing. Earth tone is just perfect for an accessory but I agree that not everybody loves it. People usually use accessories which go well with their clothes. Since it is summer you can make some bright colored items which comes in different colors. Just make sure the colors fit each other. Regarding the trend, in my country the color trend is a shade of purple and pink. People from different age brackets wear this color everywhere. Buyers would love to look and choose from different items/colors so it is also better to not concentrate on one color only.

Make a section of your website where you can interact with your potential customers. Here they might give you 'commissions' for whatever colours they prefer. Earth colours are really a mixture of pure colours. A tiny crystal or a dew-drop amongst earth or moss might unexpectedly sparkle with pure and bright rainbow colours.

I sell on Esty and there is a place but I have been burned on every occasion that some one has asked for items. i end up making them and then the person never comes back to purchase. I also have had them order then send an email the next day cancelling, or my favorite is when they order and then tell me I took too long and they will not pay as it took three days to get to them. I sell online and mail it, the delivery takes more then three days if it's not in the same town! Thanks for the input though, sorry to complain it's fresh the last one...lol

I like browns. I'm thinking of jewelry I own, or have owned, and I've worn blue, and one of my favorite necklaces that eventually broke, was red. It was like red crystals (not real ones of course) bunched together in a unique shape. It was cheap, but it didn't look it. I'm sure you have really great taste, and whatever you do make is bound to be really good.

Thanks. I am just trying to get some ideas before I buy more just in case my views are a little off from my buyers.

So you mean not just color but with a little sparkle as well? I do not have much in way of crystals or gems but it is something to expand to once I get a little more into it. Thanks.

When we do business, then we need to follow the buyer. So also with the color of objects that will be sold, then just follow the colors that tend to be well liked today. For example metalllic colors, golden yellow, and so forth.

Thanks that's why I asked on here. I see trends but I wanted to know what people actually want. so many buy items they think they will wear even after the trends are gone so that's who i was looking for.
