Have You Been Discriminated?

Have you been discriminated on whatever aspect? Be it your color, gender and sexuality, race, and religion? I haven't been totally discriminated, but somehow, those people made fun of me. I'm from Oriental Mindoro, the land of the Mangyans. They are indigenous people and the original inhabitants of that land. The first notion of some people when they learned that you hailed from that place is that you are a Mangyan or an indigenous person. That is really so disgusting and untrue. I don't want to be their fun stuff, the more that I don't want that they make fun of those people. Btw, I'm not a Mangyan. And if ever I am a Mangyan, why would I be ashamed of? Being that doesn't make less a human who deserve respect from all people.

I haven't experience discrimination since I grew up at a place where people are nice. My other classmates have different religions than most of us. We don't use that as a way of discrimination. Even if we see someone different, we just keep quiet about it. We talk to them just the way we talk normally to other people. We're all the same after all. We may have different looks and different personalities but we all have the same thing... feelings. This is what was taught to us. Happy mylotting to you guys!

I have been discriminated too. It was a long time ago, because of my height, tone of color skin, my habits. It is disgusting and I don't wish to anybody to face with this absurd discrimination. Unfortunately, there are many stupid people, who can't see further than their nose...

It is really unfortunate that some people are so 'racist' and are pea-minded. I guess, it is good to learn good manners during childhood. If the children would be taught of right manners, I'm pretty sure, no discrimination would ever hurt anyone.

Discrimination is everywhere. It happens to anyone, anytime, anywhere. And yes it happened to me, let's say a lot of times already. I am a huge woman, and been through a lot of mocking situation, that at first were unbearable and painful, but as time went on, I got used to it, as I know that these people discriminating me have no right to make me feel bad. I know myself, I know my capabilities in spite of my size, and I know my worth. It's still painful a bit, but I could handle it already. There are really people who think very shallow, illogical and insensitive. It's their happiness, so let's give them the chance to grant that happiness to them, at least we could make others happy, lol. As for me those who discriminates are more rotten inside, than whom they discriminate with.

Respect begets respect. I don't want to be discriminated so I do the same. Anyway, I've only been discriminated by my closest friends during our happy moments that's why it doesn't really hurt at all. LOL.

I guess they are true friends. Why? Because they tell you frankly right in front of your face their impressions and comments. haha

I did, because am not a catholic and am not pure filipino. Its bad enough knowing it, what more the words used. Chinese words can be soo hurtful when it comes todiscrimnating. I learned a lot from this. But one thing is for sure, it doesnt matter what they think of me. It is what i am and am proud of being that. Judge me according to that means how shallow a person might be. But i know what i am capable of and my personality even if those people judge based on that.

besides God created everyone of us accordingly. We all are equal. There's a hymn. It says: " God loves the little children, all the children of the world, red yellow balck and white, all precious in his sight" God created us as his children and all are equal, why now discriminate each other when our creator loves us equally?

I am living in Australia, I heard from the news that several Indian students were attacked in Melbourne. My classmates were attacked and some people threw ice cream on them.

Yes, I've been discriminated many times because of my religion. For me, I pity those people who tends to discriminate others because they're way of thinking is too shallow. I don't think those people are educated because the way they treat others reflect how ignoramus they are. They easily judge a person through its background without really knowing him thoroughly. If someone from your own group or race did something bad, people tend to generally label that group/race as bad people. It's very disappointing to know that these things happen in this world, that's why peace is evidently hard to achieve.

Yes, those people are definitely pea-minded. You're right, they are not educated -- of proper manner and values. And it is also very common that some people tend to be so prejudgmental. I hate those kind of people!
