Miscommunication and Communication Problems

Just recently, I almost got fired from my job due to miscommunication or communication problems. Lol. It's all because of Yahoo! Mail's crappy servers. :| Anyway, for the past 3 days, I had been e-mailing my boss updates about my tasks. Turns out, he was also e-mailing me, wanting to be updated. Yesterday, I got an e-mail from him asking where I was and why I wasn't responding to his e-mails. He told me that he'll replace me if I still don't respond or make contact with him. Later on, I e-mailed him using Gmail instead, and forwarded him all the e-mails I sent him. Turns out that he didn't get those e-mails, and I also didn't get any of his e-mails. Now it makes me wonder how many other e-mails did I not receive due to Yahoo's crappy servers, and how many other e-mails that I'd sent were not delivered properly. I can't really leave Yahoo! Mail because my whole life's basically in there, almost all of my other web accounts are linked to that e-mail. But I am using Gmail now for most of my other online activities. I really hate it when misunderstandings and conflicts arise due to miscommunication and communication problems. Not only in e-mail, but also for texts and calls. There are times when text messages aren't delivered properly and never reach the recipient. How about you, what's your experience regarding miscommunication and communication problems?

Haha, well we also chat via Skype, but for those days, I didn't go online on Skype because it was the weekend, and I thought he would be away again. Lol. I think Yahoo has been having problems for quite some time already, but only now did I feel its worst effects. Haha. Thanks for sharing!

jeeyah I have Mozilla Thunderbird email and love it so I get everything I am supposed to get. mylot sometimes does not send all the discussions of my friends but I do what I can from Thunderbird then go to my friends discussions to do the rest. Thunderbird also lets me work in a number of tags and windows.

Hmm, is Thunderbird really nice? I will check it out. I have actually been looking for a new email client, but couldn't find something more decent than Gmail. Thanks for sharing that, Hatley!

I haven't trusted Yahoo mail for a long time, so I don't even really use my yahoo mail at all anymore. I have an email address that is provided through my IP provider and that has always been very dependable for me. I've never had important emails that haven't shown up. I think when you are using email for a business purpose you should have a dedicated email address for that purpose and you should test it from time to time to make sure that it is working properly

Wow. What a horrible and stupid situation. I would try my hardest to switch everything over to Gmail if I were you. I've had situations where mis-communication has caused problems, but they are usually due to the fact that some people are just not any good at COMMUNICATING!

Well, it's just really hard because I've had that Yahoo account since 2004, and it would be hard to change everything. But for the most important stuff, I just use Gmail to be sure. I think I good what you mean about people being not any good at communicating. Haha. Can you share some of your experiences?
