When's the last time you saw a really original post in the myLot interest?

Look, no offense to the new people here, but most of the postings in this category seem to be questions that you can find the answer to in the TOS or things that have been asked over and over again. Most of us could come up with a huge list of questions that we've seen repeats of, like:
Why was my discussion deleted?
Is myLot a scam?
Does myLot pay?
How do you handle giving out best responses?
Why am I having a problem with (insert description of problem here)?
Do you accept all friend requests?
Do you delete inactive friends?
Do you respond to all your responders?
Why did my earnings go down?
Why didn't my earnings get updated?
Are you here for the money or the friends?
Well you get the idea. So I'm just wondering, how many of you really rack your brains to come up with something original? How well do you think you succeed at it? Do you have your own little niche, be it funny, outrageous, homey, whatever?
Why are you reading this anyway? It's not that original.

That's why I don't start many new discussions, cause it's all been done. So, mostly if something comes up in my personal life, that I want advice about or opinions on, then I finally make a discussion. Otherwise, I leave it up to the poor boneheads to make original discussions. But admittedly, it is getting somewhat boring at times. Good thing I'm busy outside most of the time lately. I feel bad for the shut-ins that haven't anything else to do to amuse themselves.

Like that one, eh? Was it fairly original? Or just so old, nobody has heard it for awhile, eh?
At least ya got a chuckle out of it, that's what is really important.

it sure does, especially on days when there is a glitch and suddenly there are 10 discussions all at once bringing it up!

The myLot interest does seem to get the most responses, even if they aren't original. maybe it's because it's something we all have in common.

I find myself haveing to restrain myself from responding with something like, "why don't you read the #@#@!! (insert expletive of your choice) FAQ and TOS and find out for yourself!" However, responding to them, (more or less politely) does rack up a few cheap points that do not require a great deal of thought

I've only been here a week and I've noticed that trend. In all fairness, sometimes it's hard to find original topics to talk about. A lot of the best questions have already been asked and I feel silly commenting on something a year old... But I never even considered starting a topic about "how much do you earn here?" or anything like that about the site... Maybe thats because I read the terms and guidelines first ;p

Hehe well I'm not shy about bringing up random subjects or sharing my two cents so things are working out so far. Thanks :)

It's to be expected to be honest.
I've discussions like myself often, as when I first joined people tended to point this out but when you have a large community especially the size of mylot it's expected to see discussions which are the same. This place isn't the easy system to keep tabs on things too but I do agree with you.
For myself I want to see people enjoy themselves and for the community to grow, so certain things have to ignored. This is one of them things for me :)

I wished there was more discussion which capture your thoughts, once upon a time there was many but hopefully some newer members will spark a good debate.

Lol!!! I hear ya there, girl. Gets a little boring sometimes. After you've answered a discussion once ya just dont feel like it again. I never respond to stuff i feel may get deleted either. Its like they come here looking for more ways to earn on line. Sometimes i post to these people claiming to be making alot of $$$. Please tell me how. Guess what? They NEVER answer back. So i figure they are telling a lie and they are just looking too.

Yeah I'd say if they don't answer back, there could maybe kind of be a problem!

I know what you mean. MyLot has turned from a discussion site to a question&answer community (almost). I am reading this discussion because it caught my eye unlike all the other unoriginal discussions. I can't remember the last time I saw an interesting post or discussion but I have to say it has been a long while, probably not in 2010 but that may have to do with me being not as active.
I guess I am guilty of being unoriginal but look at Apple Inc. They're not very original but are very successful Recently, I have been posting more questions than discussions which I am ashamed of.
I will tell you that the last discussion I started that I felt was original was way back in like late 2008/early 2009-ish. I can't remember all the discussions I started but I haven't been able to start any original discussions lately.
Hopefully, someone will be able to start an interesting and original discussion soon!

If it's a dawnald discussion, I gotta read it - hee hee!
I was probably a culprit at one time, writing such unoriginal myLot discussions. I don't think I wrote it to try to be original . . . I truly had no clue as I was also a culprit of not reading the guidelines (call me lazy).
I don't know if I really found a niche here . . . I just like to say whatever spews from my mind muah ha ha!!

I didn't read them either. Posted one early on just to be funny, "I think, therefore I"m posting" or something like that. Got deleted straightaway along with one that was a word game. At some point I went and looked at the guidelines.

Sweetie, to be honest. I have no idea why i read it, but in any case, II DDIIDD!!
Now, let me see if i can clear this for you.
UUMM, Maybe it is because, no wait, maybe they think. No, thats not it either.
Oh well, i did try.
To be honest, i have no idea when i read an original discussion last.
Sorry.
TATA.

Even my discussion was deleted but later I realized that it was not up to the mark and it did not follow the MyLot discussion guideline so got deleted. There is no problem with MyLot I guess.
And yes, the one I am replying is the latest original MyLot discussion :)

Not so original. :-) But yeah, if you are more familiar with the guidelines, less chance of a discussion getting deleted.

Errr....honestly can't recall exactly when was the last time I saw an original post in the myLot interest. Was it days ago? Weeks ago? Months ago? No, I think it could be years ago! It is so hard to find original posts anymore nowadays as everyday myLot members are posting more and more discussions (which practically means that one's probability to start a fresh original discussion is lesser and lesser by the day). That is why we are seeing so many duplicate discussions now. It would be definitely great to see if any myLot member can come up with an original discussion. But I just wonder who would have the time and effort to rack up their brains to squeeze that creative juice out.....oh how I wish we went back in time to when myLot first started, where any topic you think of is most probably original.....

i read friends' posts and because this is from dawn, i have to, even if i can't add a thing to comment. well, i am not sure if this one is original, "if mylot cease to mylot" and the question was, what will you do. what you gonna do when mylot is gone?

I think I've started relatively few discussions because it's so hard finding something not already being/been discussed, something within the rules, something that will generate interest, etc. I just skip any of the discussions that resemble the questions you've posted, because I get tired of them, too, and I'm relatively new... I don't have a niche. I jump around in my topics; anything from gardening to politics to family to cooking. Why am I reading this, because you, Dawn, are a friend who started the discussion .

I jump around too, though I guess funny stories about my kids are really my niche...
