Have you ever played a video game that made you very jumpy?

I know that after watching a scary or action packed movie, I can be a little paranoid and even have nightmares. Has this happened to you with any video games you've played?
It happened with me while I was playing Uncharted: Drake's Fortune on my PS3 in my room. The pirates came out of no where and I became really careful while walking around in the game. Then I got really jumpy when my mom came in. And it didn't help that she didn't knock either.
Has something like this ever happened to you?

For me it was Silent Hill series. I played the second one and the third one. Every single sound made me jump. Even the sound of someone walking outside my room or even a knock on the door. The other game probably System Shock 2, a pretty old game back then but it's really gives you the edges on every move. Even when we play it with my friends they also felt the intensity and becoming very tense on the situation.

I've never actually been afraid of a game, but I have never really got into Resident Evil or any FPS games because my mom never liked it when I played or even bought those games. I hope to get the Wii version of Resident Evil because I love those on-rail shooters.

I've always been too much of a coward to play silent hill, its something about that game that just gives me the creeps. I've played all the Resident Evils and though I was scared I got through them, but Silent hill (from what I've seen) just looks like I'd be all over my room in fear playing that.

Yes! The game was Fatal Frame - directors cut for the xbox. You're a little girl walking around a haunted village and your only weapon is a camera. Anyway, we were in this quiet part of the game, the lights are dim in the room, and I'm slowly walking around this haunted village hoping I don't get jumped, when my mom came into the room and shouted "hey kids!" My sister and I jumped out of our chairs we were so startled.

Wow, I can only imagine. But I feel like these games are the more interesting one, especially compared to all those shooter games out these days. I mean, sure there may be killing, but it isn't the traditional shoot and kill FPS you see. So did you ever manage to complete the game? I am only half way through Uncharted.

They are good games with pretty good story lines. You know when you get that involved it has to be good. I never did finish the game. I got pretty far into it and the was getting really good. It was like solving a mystery. But I just got busy and now it's been a few months since I've played it so I think I'll have to start over because I don't remember what I was doing in the game anymore! I hate when that happens :/

I do not think I have ever played a video game that made me jumpy, unless it has been years and I just don't remember. My husband plays shooter games and racing games. I play RPGS, and Racing. We've got Tomb Raider now but I am not sure whether it is scary or not as neither of us has played it yet.
We do not play video games in the dark as is, so if it were to make us jumpy it would have to be something darn scary.

Yeah, few games have this ability but you know it must be good if it can scare you. Unless of course, you are really jumpy but I don't think most people that play video games are that jumpy or how else would they survive a round of Call of Duty or something.
I don't play in the dark either, mostly cause it hurts my eyes and I can't concentrate on the game. Anyway, have fun with Tomb Raider! Let me know if it is good or not!

My boyfriend got me to play one of those games where you shoot the zombies with him. It was on Wii so it was easy because I just had to aim at the screen to shoot. We were sitting on the couch and I'm pretty sure I hid behind him at one point while we were playing. I'm not a fan of those games. All my games are either simple, happy or funny. I'm not a big fan of the shooting games, especially the zombie ones but I have tried them and they scared me.

Well, I player lots of videos games and doing so has never made me jumpy. Unlike most gamers, my mind is in the game and in reality at the same time. Plus, the things that happen to me in game, like something suprising does not really effect me as i know, which is also a term very commonly used; "It's just a game".
There has never been a game which made me jumpy, at least from the ones that i've played over the years.
Can any of you tell me which games make you jumpy the most? (besides the ones mentioned above?)

Well, I was like that and over the several years I've played video games, I never felt jumpy once. But games on the PS3 and XBOX 360 are getting more and more realistic in terms of graphics and gameplay that it can happen to anyone.
The only ones I know are Uncharted but I'm sure Uncharted 2 is just as good but maybe won't make you jumpy as much if you played the first one.

Silent Hill creeped the hell out of me. I don't know why..it just does...I was so afraid of the dark after playing that game lol...But, I eventually grew out of it after a few more hours of playing it over and over again...was a good time though. good times...

Hello,
I don't play video games very often, but when I play, sometimes I do get jumpy or very mad. Because, I tend to loose a mission more than once and after a few hours, I get so fed up of loosing or getting killed in the game. Right now, I play Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and for the past few months, I am stuck at a mission in Las Venturas and the player ( CJ) must save someone jumping from a building in Venturas. He has to use a truck with a mattress to save the guy, but It never works. I don't even have time to run to the truck and the mission fails. So, I only play the game by driving cars, flying planes, make money, eat...I have stopped trying the mission, I don't know what to do anymore.
So, instead of trying, I do something else in the game, because I get really mad and must stop the game. It is not very healthy but sometimes I loose control.
