This year supposed to be Simon's last year as American Idol judge. Be as it may, even tough he's an very hard judge to become but he's the key person for American Idol. Do you think American Idol rates would drop because of this?

I have only seen it a couple of times but yes without Cowell and Abdul and with Ellen, I think it will lose a lot of its following. I never really got much from it anyway, so I say good riddance and hope they put a good show on instead, maybe something as good as Bones.

So you say that Ellen is not giving any sparks to the judges line up then? I guess that could be the factor

I really think they are dropping anyway. He is a key person and I do think that the ratings will drop more.

They're only going two more seasons I believe after this one, because Ryan just signed a 3 year contract worth MILLIONS with American Idol, so they need to finish that out.
Simon actually personally asked Elton John, too if he would fill in for Simon for next season, he was offered 33 million to take over next year but he declined the offer.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens for next year.

Yes I think it will.
Well, I believe that there are only 4 personalities that rock Idol, and that is Simon, Rhandy, Ryan and Paula.
Don't get me wrong. I love Ellen, I watch her show. But she really isn't a very effective judge and sometimes her jokes (no offense please) just don't quite catch on and sometimes i'll go "wha--?" if you know what I mean.
I like Kara, I think she's very pretty, but the 3 judges makes up the core of the show. No matter what you say it was them that made the show and of course the contestants.
If Simon is leaving then I believe that Idol will dwindle down soon enough. Also I guess people have become, shall we say, bored with the show. How many seasons has there been? 9 already? I'm not sure anymore. with the same old concept, same everything. so its really fast becoming a drag...
If Simon will leave, then they better make certain that they will have some new twis to the show or else it really will go down the drain...

i think without simon. american idol would lose a lot of its ratings. he keeps the show interesting and his arguments with the other judges, as well as with ryan seacrest are funny to watch. it's actually gotten boring the past few seasons, i don't watch it all the time like i used to, and without simon, it will just get more boring.

Yes. I am half sure that their ratings would go down once Simon goes. Actually, this season, their ratings are already lower compared to the previous seasons. I think people are getting tired of American Idol already. Or maybe it is because the top 5 for this season are not that great. I don't even have a favorite for this season. Simon is one of the reasons I watch this show. I can't wait to hear what mean thing he would say next or even who earned his respect.
