Depression is something so common these days that we don't even realize that a close member of our family is suffering from depression. I know that when seeing a person really sad, moody, don't sleep or eat are all symptoms that he is suffering from a depression. But how can you tell the person concerned? or convince him/her to seek help not everyone admits, however these people suffer and even family member suffer and opinions!!

As you have said insomnia, loss of appetite are the main indicators of depression. Other signs can be keeping to oneself, stopping communication with relatives/friends, a depressed person prefers to be on his or her own. How can you tell the person concerned? I think it all depends on the individual person, his character, how do you predict his reaction will be. If he or she is a sensitive person than it has to be done subtly, the person should be told in a gentle manner.

Hi gauci
I do understand that it is very difficult to tell someone that he needs help.
Especially if the person involved has a lot of pride and does not admit that
needs help. Its has to be done tactily and in a nice manner otherwise
things can backfire. Maybe seeking professional advice how to tackle
this situation might help.
