That is a pretty easy question. When seeking a certain type of dog or a dog in general a pure bred dog is the general rule. When people take a cross bred dog they don't know what they r getting. They see a Rotti mix with a amer. bull Dog and see 1 or 2 good dogs out of that litter that might be what they wanted when they tried this mix. When they try again usuing different parents totally different results, maybe 1 or none that they might want. When usuing pure bred they usually get all or maybe 1 that might be what they want.
When mixing breeds it usually a crap shoot hoping for the best..
But no matter what happens, with a mix litter, sometimes 1/2 the litter shows up at the pound or unwanted....
REMEMBER ALWAYS LUV/ CARE FOR YOUR DOG OR PET, THEY WILL ALWAYS LUV U...

Hello; I never said there is wrong with them. I said when u look for something special when you mix breed it is usually a crap shoot and 1/2 the litter shows up at the dog pound. That doesn't mean you CAN NOT end up with good puppies. Just not all the litter will end up with what the breeder was hoping for...

I prefer cross breeds. I own a black dog that looks like a golden retriever and he's super smart and loving. Cross breeds look more "unique" haha and I do think that we can get the good traits from both breeds into one. Although some cross breeds don't turn out right.

I love mixed breeds.they have less health issues, because the health issues are bred out of them. They are way smarter than a pure bred.I own one now.I have a Lab/German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix. She's only eight weeks old she's already house broken.I already taught her some tricks.she so smart.I'm so happy with the puppy.

as for me, i would rather prefer pure line breeding..because cross breed can't join any conformation and all breed shows..and as a dog owner, i love to campaign my dogs all the time..

Better for what? I think all dogs are amazing and everyone can find a fit for themselves. We need to keep a pure breed, so we can get a cross breed. I generally adopt, rescue many dogs a year, to foster from kill shelters. I do have a pure breed Rhodesian Ridgeback, who is a beast male 110lbs. Love him, and all other dogs. Do research find out what dog will work best for you and your living situation.

I think it is better to get a cross breed, even if the dog only has a slight amount of another breed in it. It can lead to some gorgeous colourings/markings!
It does lessen the risk of breed related illnesses/ health issues. For example, a 100% pure bred British Bulldog will most likely develop serious breathing issues, where as one with say a lil bit of something else in him has much less chance.
It'll also save you big bucks on doggy health insurance!! It some cases, the monthly cost of insuring a pure breed can be more than double the price of insuring a cross breed.
BUT! Be it pure or cross breed, they're still animals, and still very loveable.
