Food everywhere!! Where do you usually consume your food at home?

I understand how you feel about food being consumed at a certain area. Makes sense but with my illness and arthritis I can't go up and down stairs so I just eat in my room. We haven't been a true family for quite sometime anyway. It is all in the family dynamics and that is pretty odd.

I'm single, so there's really no family meal. As such, I eat everywhere in the house; that is, at the table, at my computer, watching tv, standing by the kitchen sink...but not my bedroom, that's reserved for sleeping and napping.

When i eat IJ, i love to sit in the garden. It is more relaxing and the peace and quite is awesome. TATA.

I also like to have my food in my dining table only. Sometimes my family members ask for serving the food before TV - so that they can enjoy watching it. But I strongly suggest them to eat in the dining table and the food time should be a family time. I love to chat with my family members while having food. Watching TV will just make us to listen to the TV only. We would not be able to chat and the idiot box would surely dominate us. So I avoid having food before TV. So my choice is always a dining table.

Food is best enjoyed at the dining hall with the fellow family members. Well, I love my food in the dining hall, but I do eat snacks in front of my PC. The couch is not my place certainly.

At my mom's house, we bring our dinner to the living room coffee table and watch a movie together. We rarely have time together as a family so I guess we try to multi-task when we're together and fit dinner and a movie in at once. Growing up, we just spent more time eating in front of the tv together. We used to eat at the dining room table when my dad was still living with us, but he never ate with us. He'd yell and go hide in another room. So we thought, well if he can eat in front of a tv so can we. At my boyfriend's house, where I spend most of my time, we have to eat on the bed. It's a tiny one room place and we don't have a proper place to eat at. We bring a little table to the end of the bed and eat like that. I'm hoping to buy some stools so we can start eating at the counter at least cuz I'm tired of finding crumbs in the bed ;p

Well Cloud I have to be honest I have mine in my Living room but my Kitchen is to small to have a Dinning Table but even though I have always eaten on the Settee there is only me

Hi, cloud31 I usually will have my food in the front room. And there are times that I will eat in my bedroom too. I sometimes will stand up in the kitchen to eat my food as well.

hi cloud, just like you only some people feel eating the food on the table,it is a good habit,i too bring plate to my pc or tv i am watching tv or pc and eating food,but you are enjoying the taste of the food,but we are consuming the food with an entertainment,have a nice day

I admit, here in the apartment, I eat food everywhere, usually in my room on my bed. Heheheh. But now I'm trying to eat as much as possible in the dining table, cause it's a waste if we're not going to see it. LOL. Back in the home of my parent's though, we can't eat anywhere but on the dining table. They are fairly strict about that since we were young. We can watch tv while were eating, since the television is adjacent to the dining area.

Hi Miss Cloud!! When I'm independent, I usually eat with my family in our dinning table always. Now, I'm alone and I often consume my food with my computer. Sometimes I sit on the floor and holding the plate. Is it obvious that I dont have a table? lol. Happy Mylotting and Have a nice day!!! GBU....

Hello cloudie! We consume our food in the family's dining area because we're very much comfortable there being seated in a proper area where food should be consumed. Well, others might enjoy eating in some other areas in the house and i cannot blame them if they are happy and comfy being with those particular areas, as we all know people are alike and different in so many ways, its just that im used to eating in the dining room of ours because i could enjoy my meal without worrying of little space, incomplete food or careless moves especially when im eating in front of computer where any moment, my drinks might spill or my food might dropped in the keyboard. I don't want to eat in the living room in front of the TV because its a private thing for us to share our day's experiences while enjoying our food in our dining room, where even the simplest dish will be extra special when we eat all together. i make it a point to have my meals at the dinner table. but sometimes when there is a good show on tv, i might just enjoy dinner in front of the telly :)

Hey we all family sit together in dinning hall and have food,

I usually eat on my couch while watching the news or something like that. We have a really nice dinning room table, but it is usually crowded with things that we bring home. I also usually eat alone, so I really don't see the point in sitting at the table.

hi cloud I was brought up in the depressions years and my parents were adament that we always eat together at the dining table in the dining room. But when I got married to a television addict we all started eating in front of the t.v. and I sort of missed those meals when we ate at a dining table in a dining room. When my son was little we did have a separate dining room and we did for awhile eat at a real table but slowlyu but surely we migrated to eating in front of the tv and not really talking at all. Now I eat with my fellow residents , four of us to a table and we do talk a bit, its sort of nice too, I like that.

I eat all my meals at my kitchen table. I do have a small tv in there & i usually have it on when i am eating. I always read while i'm eating to. I use to try & pull that when i was young & still at home but my dad would never let me read at the table.lol. Now i can do whatever i want.

My wife and I seldom use our dining table. It's just too big for us. So it's either we bring the food in our room where we feel much more comfortable eating or we dine out the garden to get a really calming ambiance... that is if we are on a romantic urge. We do almost everything inside our room though. We stay a lot in our room. The other rooms might be jealous already, but this is the place where we truly feel at home.

Depends on where I am really. If I am off studying and in my rented place, I would just eat in front of my laptop where I usually watch my tv series. But when I am at home, I always eat with my family on the dinner table. Such is the tradition of my family, we always eat at the dinner table, nobody can eat in front of the tv and absolutely nobody can go missing. Failure to do so would incur the wrath of the old man. I prefer it that way though since I am not often at home (maybe 3 months out of the whole year) so its nice to chat with the parents, the family and all. All of my sibling are still studying so there is actually no excuse for not being on the dinner table on time.

I sit on the floor while eating and watching movie, very comfortable.lol especially when weather is so hot.
