Paperback or Hardbound?

Most of my books are paperback because they are more affordable compared to the hardbound books. They occupy less bookshelf space too. I only buy hardbound books if I like to read the book right away and only the hardbound is available and I can't wait any longer for the paperback.

I read all the time and I truly value my book collection. Personally, if I am going to invest money in a book I will always buy the hardcover. A paperback is more susceptible to various types of damage. I have moved several times and throughout the process I have lost almost every paperback in my collection. I know that the hardcovers are considerably more expensive but I intend to keep my books for a lifetime. For those who want to read a book and pass it on I recommend the paperback because they are cheaper, but for those who want to add books to their collection I would go with the hardcover versions.

I find paperbacks are easier to read if it is a large book, but the hardbacks feel extra special and sturdy. If it is a book I will read several times I will opt for a hardback option as it will last for longer. Paperbacks tend to fall apart after a while!

I prefer hardcover books. They're sturdy, more fun for me to read, and they last much longer. I really prefer carrying bigger books instead of smaller books. The weight doesn't bother me. It's good for me to build up some muscle!
I can't always afford hardcovers though, and most of my favorite books never get published in hardcover. So I do buy paperbacks sometimes.

I prefer paperback because first of all it's cheaper. Second, it's not heavy to carry with me anywhere I go and feel like reading the book. However, I find hardbound books more durable because the cover does not wear off easily. But what I do in my paperback books to make their covers last if that I cover with them cellophane (the transparent one). It's a lot practical.

I'd rather buy a paperback cause it's a lot cheaper than the hardbound books. But if I had the money, I'd rather buy the hardbound copies coz the books are in better conditions in the long run. But I also have a rule, that if I bought a hardbound book and that book was the first book in the series, whatever the cover is, the other books should follow as well.

I'm the same as you, as I also prefer paperback books because they are lighter than hardback books and easier to carry around. I like being able to read in bed and paperback books are easier to keep the pages held back. They are cheaper to buy too and take up less space on the shelves.
