As far as I am concerned, Dave Batista is the single most entertaining superstar in WWE today and it is going to be a shame when he leaves at the end of next month. Ever since he turned heel, Batista has been knocking it out of the park. I thought his promo to open up RAW this week was fabulous, with his righteous indignation of losing due to Cena duct taping his feet together. And then there was the fact that he just told Sheamus that he didn't deserve a title shot when Sheamus asked for him to put it on the line and told Sheamus to get out of his ring. It is truly a shame that Batista is about ready to leave just as he is really hitting his stride as a heel.

Batista has the appearance for sure, and he has improved on the mic. However, in the ring, I find him slow and plodding. His matches just lack that "wow" factor for me, and he always seems to be out with some injury or another.
The guy has done well for himself, but after some of the things I've heard about the man when he is not in character fuels my dislike for him. I mean, what man leaves their wife because she has cancer?

Surprise Surprise.....Batista has been entertaining as heel. But i also feel that Edge is quite entertaining and so is Chris Jericho. Then there is Santino Marella .........lol.

Oh, yes Santino, he was great as a heel. As are Jericho and Edge as well. I just wish that Santino would be heel again, because babyface Santino just is not cutting it for me. I think when he did "The Honk-O-Meter". Still Batista, a great and entertaining heel. I thought he might be something even when he was Reverend D-Von's Deacon. Of course, I also thought that Kurt Angle would not amount to anything and that Val Venis and D'Lo Brown would be future World Champions by the end of 2000, so yeah, it is really hit and miss. Still Batista is entertaining and no surprise to be honest. It freshened up his career a good deal.

I am not aware that Batista is now leaving WWE and wondering what would he be doing now. Anyway, Its been a year already that I have not watch wrestling and the last match that I saw about him was that he was able to beat Triple H and turned from being a bad guy into good.

He wants to go into Hollywood. Contract is coming up in the end of May. Plus, there was the fact that he thought he was going to get involved with the next WWE Film but it was given to Triple H instead. Whether or not that has anything to with Batista not re-signing is one of those things that can be debated. Of course, it could have been one of those things where he's not going to re-sign the contract unless he gets the movie and WWE would not give Batista the movie unless he re-signed his contract. So a vicious cycle. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and contributed to the topic. Have a nice day and thanks.

ah! It explains why WWE has been showing his as a villain for quite some months now. Batista has been a fan-favorite for many years and just before his contract expires, he has turned evil? No wonder why WWE has shown him loosing two pay-per-views in a row to John Cena. Now I guess Batista will be having a match against someone with a stipulation in place where Batista looses he should retire from wrestling a week before his contract expires They did the same with Jeff Hardy when he signed with TNA. No wonder why fans are loosing interest with WWE.
Batista was a great wrestler indeed. He has a perfect body to wrestle and he has an incredible in-ring ability. Unfortunately, it's all about the money to survive in this world and Batista has chosen Hollywood than WWE as you can see more money...

I would imagine that Cena and Batista at Over the Limit when they fight yet again is going to be a Retirement Match or a Loser Leaves Town Match. It is truly a shame that Batista is leaving but he may be back one day. This is wrestling and if I have learned one thing by watching it, "never say never." Thank you for your response it is much appreciated and contributed to the topic. Have a nice day and thanks.

Yes, I know, it will be a shame when he leaves. Hopefully he changes his mind and decides to stick around. He will still be around until Over the Limit. After that he's going, because that's when his contract expires and if I recall correctly, he has not signed a new one. Of course, there is still time, but he's going to try and make it in Hollywood. Whether or not that pans out remains to be seen. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated. Have a nice day and thanks.

There is no question that Batista is one of the top two or three heels in the WWE today. Let's face it, he was becoming a bit stale as a face anyhow. In pro wrestling, being a heel is much easier than being a face and I think Batista is a prime example of it. To truly be nearly 100% over as a babyface now-a-days, you have to be a living legend (like Shawn Michaels or Sting) or have a tweener attitude (i.e. Randy Orton now or Steve Austin in his prime).

Yes, Batista really did need a heel turn when he did. I believe the only person ever who needed one more was Hulk Hogan before he was revealed to be the third member of the NWO. Still Batista was up there. Batista is just one of those guys that just are more entertaining as a heel anyway. Kurt Angle is another one that is up there like that. Thank you for your response it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Actually, I disagree with most of you, Batista may be dominating but not entertaining. He cannot cut a promo without boring people, he gets tired easily in the ring, very boring again, can't talk that well and is a ripoff of Brock Lesnar. Batista does make a great heel but there are more deserving superstars.
