How do you calm yourself when you are so upset towards someone?

Sometimes I get upset at my boyfriend. I yell at him but I always end up regretting for doing that. How do you calm yourself when you are fired up with your emotions?

I usually take time to cool myself off - it requires being alone, thinking things over, possibly getting some fresh air and even going on a run, kickbox in the basement, dance, or anything that uses up this extra adrenaline that we get when we're angry. For me, I love driving - especially on highways at night. There's an element of risk in it, and it's a little exhilerating for me to pump up the music, roll the windows down, and just drive down any highway in the city. It helps me think and compose myself. I like to cool down and let what's happened register - so when I rebut to whoever was making me angry - I'm more composed and rational. This is just what I do though. It might not work for you..But why not try?

I should try doing what you do. Sometimes, yelling makes me feel better. But its eating out of me. No matter how upset I am, he remains calm. I end up getting more upset at myself why he is taking my anger so calmly.

Good thing he doesn't fire back when I'm bursting into flames.
