I am an active member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo and we are known for our block voting during elections. It has pros and cons like we don't face the dilemma of choosing among candidates and doesn't have any other choice whenever our Executive Minister makes the decision. We abide and do it out of faith:)

Although I don't really agree with block voting, I have great respect and admiration for the Iglesia ni Cristo members. I think if you're idealistic and opinionated, setting aside who or what you believe in will be very difficult but it is the sacrifice you are willing to do for your faith.

Well I think we should just chide aside the news and surveys as just there to inform us but it should never influence us in our choice. But I think there is nothing wrong if we chose our candidate and the one we chose is the person on top of the survey for as long as we used our mind and we know in our heart that the person is the right leader for you. It is not right to think that the person in top of the survey they do not deserve your vote. Vote according to your conscience and if you feel that the person you think is deserving of your vote is on the top of the survey or on the lower rank on the survey, then it is not a mortal sin to follow what your heart desires.

A sad reality perhaps especially when the one we are rooting for is not doing good in the surveys and news. I do hope that people should start getting matured when trying to choose the next leader.

Most people do get influenced by the news and surveys. A cousin of mine told me why would he vote for a candidate who is not winning? Even if he agrees and believes on the candidate's platform he thinks, why bother voting that candidate if his chances of winning is dim.
Thanks for your post rsa101!

Never. I choose my bet according to his capability to lead our country. I never relay to any survey coz I don't believe in the survey even the media.

Ofcourse no!!, I base my choice on character, credibility and track record.
That is why I hate others who said that they will not vote for the candidate that they really like because the winning probability is thin, and they will just waste their vote.
And instead go for the candidate that is on top of surveys. Surveys should be illegalized, it is just conditioning the mind of the voters.
What has popularity to do with your ability in running a country.

Noy-noy at first, when he wasn't winning says, surveys can be bought at Recto, then he changes opinion when he gets the top position. Funny, right?
I also believe that commercials should be reviewed first by COMELEC before they show it on TV. The content should just be their platform and their plans for the country. Star endorsements on TV should also be made illegal.

Popularity is not the way how I will judge my next leader. I would like to describe him since May 10 election in the Philippines is fast approaching. Manny Villar is the most suited for the position to be the next President of the country. Why? Because I believe he is the embodiment of hope among the poor Filipinos. You can hear his message resonates among the masang Pinoy---the poorest of the poor--He never stopped dreaming that even if you are born poor, you do not have to stay poor all your life. He presented himself to be poor and who, through his blood, sweat and tears, has now emerged to be one of the most powerful billionaires of the country. His website states, "Hard work, persistence and perseverance which became his guiding principles. He has a tried and tested management skills in both business and politics which is for me the key to solving the problems of the Philippines.
The Philippines was once a prosperous country but look at where we are at now and the other Asian countries have even bypassed us in terms of economic progress. So what if he went down the survey due to the black propaganda being spread by his enemies. He will still remain the hope of our country, hope he wins because I don't want a popular guy like Noynoy win the presidential race. What is his plan, to catch the corrupt officials? Then what? Does he have a solid plan to improve our economy or just wait until he catches a corrupt official. I need proof that he can run a country, and Manny is tried and tested to do just that. I know he will not waste his time from the very first day he will sit in the Malacanang Palace.
This is just my opinion. Any violent reactions are welcome but no abusive response or else it will be reported. Thanks.
