I have suffered all my life with weight gain and my life is a constant battle.
I found the Weight Watchers No Count/Core programme the best method.
What do you think?

Hi, I am sorry to hear of you having this battle for as long as you have. It gets tiresome, doesn't it?
Sometimes people are faced with this due to medical issues. I have heard that sometimes the issues may concern thyroid or others.
For myself, I do not and never have followed any "Program" To me it is a waste of money and is all hype.
Whereas to loose weight we must consider the energy (calories) we put in vs the energy (exercise) we expert.
The proper kind of calories is most important.
We can not consume refined carbs, sugary products and no fruits, grains and vegetables with good healthy oils as well and expect to be trim.
Soda, flour products are a big no for those who want to reduce their weight.
What I have done first and foremost is cut out all bread and any products that contain flour, unbleached, whole wheat or other. Absolutely no bread as well as most dairy products, except for yogurt. I am not to hip on Tofu and soy product though.
Then what I have done is I take my current weight, I times it by 15 and then subtract 500.
The total is the number of calories that I can consume daily to loose one pound per week and it works. I have added additional exercise, more walks, going to the pool and riding my bike. Sometimes I get down and do some exercises on the floor to tone my legs, butt, waist and tummy.
I am proof that by using the formula above works like a charm. Forget the fad diets and try it. You may be amazed.
You will have to pick up a calorie counter book to keep track of your daily calories and stick to the required amount for your weight, per day.
After a week or two you will get to know how much of what is allowable so wont have to measure and keep track of everything for ever, unless you want to.
I weigh in once a week, in the morning first thing. Sometimes I skip a week.
The best part is once you start to see the weight diminish you get way more motivated and becomes fun. Losing weight becomes a lifestyle and does require change for most.
Obesity is so common and believe it is because people eat way too much fast food, processed and empty carb food, whereas we need grains, whole grains and lots of fiber to be successful at loosing weight. Cut out sugar and flour al together and you will see a difference within a week or two.

You are most welcome. If you were to follow the formula above for even two weeks, you will see that it works. Thank you for your comment! Wishing you well.

I have been doing Slimming World for almost 2 1/2 years now. I lost 2 stone in the first year but then had some problems and put half a stone back on. I have lost some motivation now and need a kick up the you know where!! I'd like to know more about the WW program.

It's quite difficult to realize any kind of diet, as I like eating and I have two small children, so I have to cook almost every day and take care they eat well. But, as I also have overweight, my boss (a doctor, I work in a medical centre) put me on a diet. He explained me how to control my weight. It's important to know what you are eating, how much and when you eat. Sometimes we might eat more than we need, as we don't burn enough energy. But the diet has to be personal depending on the person, their likes and depending on what they need. So you should start first realyzing a blood test to make sure if you are allright and then, depending on the result, a doctor (for example you own general practioner) should help you to loose wight on the right way.

never tried that yet. I've tried the south beach diet and I really saw results. It's just really hard to retain the loss. :)
