I know alot of retailers are getting super picky with returns on things. On friday I bought my son a Thomas the train movie. Well I thought since he banged himself up a bit he'd like to watch this while he rested. Well it doesn't load at all. I thought ok, maybe it's just me? So I put in another new video and it was fine, one that had a few scratches worked so it's not my player. Do you think Wally World will let me return it? There isn't a scratch or finger print on it, it just won't load period.

Good point! It must be defective ... and I highly doubt that a family oriented company would want to start ticking customers off by not "making it up to them" or at least either offering to give the person their money back or exchange for one that does work!

It's a defective product, I don't see why it wouldn't be returnable. If the disc appears to be in pristine condition, they can't say you mishandled the product at all.

Wal Mart will let you exchange it for exactly the same movie. I have been there and done that. Take your receipt, and tell them about the problem. I am sure they will be glad to know.

My experience is that they will let you exchange it for the same thing. But if opened, they won't let you return it or exchange it for something else. I had bought a DVD PC game for my GD and it didn't load right, so I took it back and they did an even exchange for the same item. That one didn't load either, turns out it was cause the one I got was a "part 2" kind of thing and I had to have the first one installed for the second one to work as the second one used lot of the same procedures and things that the first one installed. Of course they don't tell you that, so you have to go through what I went through and buy both to get them all to work!

My best friend had a similar problem with getting a movie from Walmart that wouldn't load and they let her exchange it for a new one so I doubt you will have a problem if you take it back! Good Luck!

If it's defective I would say they would let you return it but would give you store credit instead of cash or a credit on your card or let you exchange it for the same movie. If they don't, contact the manufacturer and tell them about the problem. Be sure to keep your receipt until this is resolved! If you don't get any satisfaction from anyone, start calling the Better Business Bureau, the parent company of the movie distributor and some consumer groups till you get your money back or a copy that works.

I'd go up to them immediately about it because heck, it doesn't work. They sold you an item that was defective right off the bat. That's not exactly something that should go by without confrontation.
