What makes you a NINJA?

In all fairness, it was a conspiracy for me to start this post. I read a discussion about a friend of mine, posting in a number of discussions. Came across this picture on a friends Facebook profile...different friend. And remembered, oh yea, I am a ninja....
I am quiet, stealthy, and I creep everywhere(according to some). I have also taken a lesson or two in the art of Ninjitsu. Now, if you are looking for a good work out, I highly recommend it. It is intense aerobic and martial art training.
So, what makes you a Ninja, and what flavour are you?

What is ninjitsu ? :)) i was not aware of such a martial art. well ninja term originally refered to assasins, hitmans, who had some of those quality you mention but way more :) You know the legends, they could jump (fly) over high walls, shoot those star like metal things with the precision of a Darts champion, be masters of every weapon available, disapear in smoke.
So after enumerating all those i don t feel anything close to a ninja:)) i more of a peacefull person and i would never kill anything even for a huge amount of money :)

Ninjitsu, it could be a more recent or a very ancient Martial Art, I was at a Martial Arts symposium in the Winter this year, and one of the instructors was demonstrating it. There was a lot of jumping and rolling involved.
I heard a story once that in China, they would take the children that were in training to be ninjas and tie bamboo shoots to their legs and have them repeatedly jump over the corn stalks every day, with only the strength of their ankles. That is why they could jump so high. I read it in The Way of the Peaceful Warrior, I forget the authors name though.
They could do all those things and more I am sure, you would have to be quite smart to assimilate all that knowledge, so I am sure they had study and mediation as well. I wish I could learn to throw the shuriken even half as well as a real Ninja, it takes years of dedicated training, of which I do not think I can commit myself at this time.
The smoke trick is a good one as well. A very good distraction.
What do you excel at? That is what Ninja's did, they excelled in their fields. So perhaps you are a ninja at showing Love to your neighbor.
With Appreciation.

Oh well... Excel is a big word for me:) I m a modest person myself. I m a pretty good pool player. And i used to excel at math but that didn t help alot so i kinda quited that few years ago. And i used to run 50m under 6 seconds:)) Dunno any of that qualifies as ninja but i can think at nothing more :)

It all counts my friend. Math is a very useful tool, every business requires it to some degree. Running fast has proven to be useful in my life several times.

Exercise it is very good for you. It is my opinion, and I hold it tightly that if you truly want something, you would let nothing stand in your way of getting it. Do not take that the wrong way, I do not believe that anyone has the right to violate the rights of others.
I just firmly believe that when you want something, you will make plans for the achievement of it, and adjusting your plans as necessary you will attain your desires.

yep if you are trained in ninjutsu (not ninjitsu) then you are a ninja
that's what I heard
it's actually called another name, not ninja. but ninja is the word known to the world outside Japan as the person that is trained in ninjutsu
I am not and so I can't call myself a ninja
I can call myself a yogi, because I practice yoga and meditation
flavour ? hmmm I'd say chocolate, strawberry and orange

Getting all technical on me eh. That is just fine. Thank you so much for the spelling correction, for some reason it did not seem right, and my spell checker would not fix it properly for me.
I forget the other name, though I have known it in the past, it is lost in the paths of my mind, I am aware that they are only called ninja's by the outside world.
The reference to being a ninja on the other hand, has very little to do with your practice of martial arts, rather, the areas in life where you do very well. That you excel at.
and in closing, I love strawberries, and only when they are fresh from the field.

Unfortunately, I dont think I have any attributes that would suggest to anyone that I could be a Ninja... I am not quiet, nimble, self-controlled or fearless. I did do a short course of judo many, many years ago but the only thing I ever mastered was holding people down once they were already on the ground. Somehow, I dont think an adversary would respond as i'd wish to me saying "Excuse me, could I just stop you there for a minute.... could you see your way clear to lying down on the ground so I can pin you down until help arrives".

Never know, if you said it nicely enough you could just shock them into accepting your terms. I agree. Not likely, though, it would be amusing to see on TV.
Judo is good, blending arts are my favorite, because they use the most leverage from the attackers. I prefer that to, trying to use my force to subdue someone.
