HI guys!
As most of you know I've only just moved back from Montana to Oklahoma just a few months ago.
Don't get me wrong now, Montana is great and beautiful state but Oklahoma is my home state and since I've been with my son and grandsons for the last several months it seems life is just better now !
I see beauty in the clouds, the flowers that are abloom now and tho there are troubles like I now have termites----------another discussion....
I find myself smiling and singing away most of the day.
I was wondering what makes you guys smile regardless of the dredges of the day?
God Bless, quita88

All I ever have to do is listen to or watch the local news to realize that life really ain't so bad, at all!
The first and foremost thing that makes me smile throughout the day, regardless of the dredges through out has to be my Yorkshire X dog. She is the cutest and funniest.
Besides that I am grateful for being placed on this earth, being given the gift of life. I assume that the troubles we face are there to help us along. Even though sometimes, it may not seem like it. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger. Diversions, problems we face, build charecter.
I enjoy my days merely through choice of attitude. I can go through each day mumbling and grumbling but from experience, seeing others in such a state, I choose the opposite. I do not want to feel, look and be miserable. Life has so much more to offer. I love to be in the garden, outdoors, at the beach, in the forst, I like to ride my bike, walk with my dog or go for a drive. There is so much we can do for fun, that we may not like to do but needs to be done that we feel so much better for once the task is completed, I can not understand why people choose to be miserable, let the trials of life bring them so down that they are in a depressive state for what seems like forever more. Especially when we are given the gift of choice. The world is our oyster. What we do with it is up to us. I personally much more prefer having fun and enjoying even the worst tasks and or situations than grumble about it. How depressing.
Have a terrific day! and good luck with the termites.
What is your solution? I may have an option.
Thank you for your worthwhile discussion!

WOW, what a terrific attitude ! You and I both love our animals and that is sign to me that we are ok in this world as animals know good people !
I too think we are all here for a reason but also to be judged by how we react to troubles, happiness and just plain old every day stress.
I hate it when people act obnoxious and gripe and carry on when as you say the world is our oyster and we have a choice to be a good example to others or be a a bad example. I think too we are being watched and are judged every day.
WE have been given gifts on this earth to take to heart. But it seems as tho so many just flat don't see these sunsets, the flowers in bloom, the birds that are singing and all the wonders the Lord has put here for us to enjoy.
Work is good for all of us and is another gift of life. Labor is humbling and makes us grateful for our bodies and minds that we were given.
I have grown older with a so so attitude but since I am older and see the many wonders I've just looked over I am now not taking one day, one minute or one second for granted !
I love life ! I had two heart attacks last year and quit smoking...... cold turkey too. But I choose to LIVE and not puff away.
It was an excellent choice and I am being blessed with the gracious gift of life here on earth.
I hope I never lose my sight or my hearing so I cannot see and hear the wonders of this world:)
Thank you for making me feel lots better tonight !
As to the termites. Well? dah? I had an exterminator here and this old house is in bad shape.........it's going to cost me big time but all in all it's worth it cuz I love it here. Mama left me this house last year when she passed on and I intend to do right by this old house til it falls down around my ears LOL
If you have any suggestions PLEASE let me know !
God bless you,
quita

I smile at a lot of things. Some of them are the things my pets do. Some is just at a smile given to me by family or friends. When I was in Oklahoma last weekend I received a really nice compliment from someone at my brother's church, and that was unexpected. I was in my yard early this afternoon and a robin tried to sneak up on me. There are good things going on, even when there are some complicated things as well.

I do so understand! I was at a baseball game with my grandsons and the youngest had caught a moth, just a simple moth and put it in a coke cup. He was sooo thrilled when I too got excited !
Just a few months ago the same grandson and I had walked to the lake that is by this house and he picked up some tiny little shells and was really happy but when he showed his daddy, my son..., my son said, "so what?"
Dah???? So what??? This little boy has found something that to him is about the greatest thing in the world ...today maybe !
But I saw my grandsons disappointment and tried to smooth it over. Not sure it worked but I did try.
It's been that incident and the moth at the ballgame that I've started noticing the smallest things in life to bring out a smile!
I have several animals too as you already know and I do have a new puppy and she is full of antics that should tick me off but I can't help but smile at the puppy play.
Like I said, he flowers have become more pink, blue, lavender and purple these days.
I love my birds! My flowers and my grandsons.
What more could anyone ask for?
Hugs,
quita

My little dog makes me smile a lot. She keeps me laughing all the time, lol! I sing and play the guitar as one of my hobbies and that keeps me happy, too. I also enjoy going out to feed my horse everyday. I sing and play the guitar once a month at one local nursing home and one assisted living facility. I always feel good knowing that I've made those residents feel good.
Yes, Montana and Oklahoma are both beautiful states! I used to travel a lot and I've been in both of them.

WOW, you do stay busy ! and if it all makes you smile then it is worth all the effort. I think it is great you play your guitar for the old folks. They must surely enjoy that !
I am a nurse and have taken care of the elderly and I am quite sure you make their days much better. Making others happy tends to make us smile too:)
I am sooo glad to know you to know how to keep a true smile on your face !

When I watch my five year old playing; giggling... laughing, singing.. when she's unaware always makes me smile! I worked hard.. several years trying to have a child. She is the highlight of my life! It was when I had given up and felt that I would always be fruitless that I was given my Katie... she was the best gift I have ever recieved.
Montana certainly is a beautiful state! Glad to hear you are home; and have the ability to smile despite the termites!!!

Awww, how sweet you have your Katie now ! God blesses us all in HIS own ways and His own times !
You are very young yet but life will take you places with your little one that you would have never imagined in all you days! Yes, Katie is a highlight and a gift.
Ah, I do so love Montana but home is in Ok. and you always go home I've learned.
As for the blasted termites............well I have a guy coming tomorrow !
Life is still sweet and colorful with all it's sham and drudgery.....
The desiderata....
God Bless,
