Yeah it's me with the Haiku again. Can you tell I'm bored? Well, it's springtime, my favorite time of year. The rain has stopped, the flowers are blooming, the hills are green, there are baby critters all over the place, and the weather is nice and comfortable. So how about if everybody puts forth their best effort to write a haiku for spring?
Spring is new flowers
And new baby critters all
Enjoying the green

I am happy too
Hi dawn! This is my first poem in English. . I do love Spring though so forget the lack of ability.

The sun is shining? But I did not like the article there. It can make up for the syllable but dims the sun somehow.
What do you suggest? I can make haikus in Spanish though.

Hi Dawn,
Spring is one of the seasons i loved in a year's cycle. Please bear with my haiku...
Spring time blooms
Tulips in season
Surroundings are full of colors
Trees are well groomed.

Robin approaches
Curiosity on foot
Sociable spring bird.
I had an old kiddy pool out, filled, and was sitting in it. As long as there are no cats around the robins tend to come really close to check things out.

Dawn it is autumn here and 1st June is the beginning of winter, so how can I write about Spring?
Autumn is here now
Winter is approaching so
Farewell humid days!
While winter isn't for another few weeks, I'll be enjoying some VERY cold weather next week. We are off to New Zealand on Monday. We'll be touring both islands. The temp at Queenstown (Mt Cook and Fox Glacier) is currently 0*-10*C. We'll be back at the end of May.

Why go when it's cold?
1. I want a holiday NOW.
2. It is always cold on the South Island - gets MUCH colder July onwards.
3. I'd rather have the cold than the humidity anytime.
4. I enjoy wearing winter clothing and can almost never wear it here.
5. I want a holiday NOW!
Across the Tasman
With woollies and happy grin
I'll enjoy my trip.

:-)
In that case, enjoy your cold, non-humid holiday and tell us all about it when you get back!

Okay, never written a haiku before...Here goes...
Spring has sprung
All is well
As far as I can tell?????
More like rhyme than a haiku...Sorry! It is my first attempt besides it’s getting chilly here. We’re in autumn and winter will be here before we know it. Today I was writing with my feet on top of my laptop plug to keep them warm...

It's supposed to be five syllables, seven syllables and then three, I think...As I said I've never written one...

Chasing my daughter
Where'd she get this energy
I'm no Spring chicken
Heh heh But I'm serious! I think it's more work keeping my 5 year old occupied than the baby!! Pant, pant. Now that the weather is great, we're taking more walks to the college (we're very close to one) and there she can run to her hearts content - hee hee!

This is not a haiku. But at some time every Spring my husband recites this poem. I think it is either by Flip Wilson or Nipsy Russell. I love it and I pretty much laugh every time.
Spring has sprung
The grass has riz (pause)
I wonder where the flowers is
I'll have to think about a haiku now....

And I remember:
Spring has sprung.
Fall has fell.
Summer is as hot as hell.
