Don't you just love Philippines? It holds beautiful islands with breathtaking beaches. It is the home of many great athletes, a place where people are warm and hospitable. It has many stories to tell. It has brilliance as well as flaws that are uniquely Juan de la Cruz. When asked the question, "If you are to decide on your own ethnicity, what would you choose?". Without portrayal, I will answer Filipino. I just love being one.
How about you? What would you answer? What makes you proud for being a Filipino?

Hello there! I am a Filipino too and I live in Davao City. I don't travel that much but based on what I see on television and on the internet, I am proud to say that the Philippines is indeed a very beautiful country despite the controversies it still faces. But hey, no country is perfect! I am lucky to be born in this country and I am proud to be a Filipino.

Aside from the wonderful places and sites, Thats why am starting to visit every beautiful spot in the country.
For me the most memorable about the Philippines is the people.Filipinos are happy people. We remain to be positive despite the many problems in life. We still manage to smile over our mistakes. And Filipinos in nature are hospitable.

As we all know we've been through all the destructive disasters and where are we now? still standing and never give up.though we're just a small and poor country our determination to survive made us possible to rise again. the fighting spirit of filipino's was really amazing....

Don't you just love the Philippines? well this is just the same thing as other countries that is corrupt, dangerous to journalist and what else? I am a Filipino, but to think that these things happening to my country, I am not so proud of .
We are a country who is also leading in Domestic helpers, I have nothing against them, I am still happy they work for their family, but when you go to other countries, they think that your a helper also. The hard life in our country forced our people to work for a better living abroad. We just hope that this coming election, our status as a country would look better to the International community.
Our country is rich in natural resources but has been handled by others. Some Filipinos are illegal settlers and the foreigners own the land . Sometimes, if we think that we should be so proud of our roots, I don't doubt that part, but when I happen to look at what is happening in my country, I really feel so sad

Hi strawberry:),
Even I, am not happy with what our country is coming to. We appear to be democratic but there are things that make us not. There is also a mentality present in other countries that when you say Filipino, it means domestic helper or worse, mail-order bride.
But despite of all the things done, I believe that we can still see better on a higher plane. Anyway, Filipinos are known for their optimism right?

I'm neutral about being a filipino. I'm not saying I hate it, but I'm not saying it's the best thing that ever happened to me. LoL. And I have to admit, our reputation abroad (in some countries) is kinda embarrassing because a lot of our people are caught in illegal issues . I'm not saying every filipino out there is like that -- like in every nationality or ethnicity, there is the existence of good and bad people. So yeah, to put conclusion to this: I'd say, I don't mind being a Filipino.

I have no second thoughts in saying that our country is one of the most blessed countries in the world. I'd say we're near perfect with all the natural wonders we have. But as I always believe, God provides balance to every thing. The very thing that turns me off about our country is that we don't have the RIGHT leaders. We are blessed with nature but we don't take care of it. Most of us are not doing our part; we are exploiting and taking advantage of it. We're doing otherwise. We're not doing and giving our country what it's worthy of. We should take care, nurture and protect what our country has - people, natural resources, reputation, character.

Yes, Im proud to be a Filipino, thou there are negative issues, still they can't put our country down, we have produced lots of talents that are famous here and abroad, we have beautiful sceneries that's why foreigners can't help to get a vacation here in our country and even make our country their second home. I'll always be proud living here in our country =)

I'm a Filipino and I'm proud of it! We have a very colorful history and a well mannered people that most countries are envious of. Our hospitality is the best and I boast for that. So much to say about our places because I've been already there once or several times.

I love the Philippines as well, and that I won;t trade anything for it. I love how we get to be a mix of both culture and modernity. I love our scenic spots, and I love the people and how hospitable everyone is. There's no place like our country.
