Has anyone every tried couples counselling? I think that my husband and I
have issues with but no matter what I do, it doesn't make the situation any
better. I have tried talking to my husband but he says I'm just being silly.

No. I don't think I would ever resort to that. I don't want other people meddling with my marital life. I always tell my wife whenever we get into a heated argument that we should always try to listen to what the other has to say with a loving ear. Not just hear the actual words. Like when she tells me "You're always busy." Using a loving ear I would hear, "I just want to cuddle with you." And the statement won't sound so hurtful or sound accusatory anymore.

I have been married for only a year and communication is very important for me. It was a struggle on my part before when it was so hard for me to have a heart to heart talk with my husband. He was hesitant at that time and for me, he never wanted to listen. I tried to work it out, and ask him to talk to me. I was also being patient. I wanted to push him to get into it but it wont work of course. Now, we are able to communicate with each other and I am more open to him now. Maybe your husband needs to know how important it is to you that you talk.
