Did you ever dream of having pen-friend?

Is the word "penfriend" out of date now?When I was young,I dreamed of having a penfriend.Sometimes I prefer to use a drift bottle.We need friends to have fun together and to share secrets.It's exciting to talk with someone you never know.You even could pour your heart to him/her.But now we have msn,mylot,facebook,most of us talk with strangers everyday.Maybe penfriends don't exist anymore,or penfriends can communicate by email nowdays.

I never had any pen friends or pen pals as we call them here. I have to admit, it's very outdated now. I'd rather have an e-mail friend than a pen pal. It's more easier and organized.

I feel it is totally out dated. When the real boom was there I tried and also made some friends but to be frank they were not active and I was active but got disappointed.
But these days who has tie to make friends and write to them.The technical development has made everything small.And,it has also made the heat small. These days every one is working only with small heats and most of them have become selfish.

We always called them pen-pals. I had alot of them when i was young. In a way making friends on mylot is alot like having a pen-pal. U get close to certain people & are able to talk to them about things that are bothering u & they do the same thing to u. I think it's great.

When I was a kid we called them pen pals. I used to want one so bad and was never able to find one. I even tried a service in a magazine when I was a kid, but I never got a response. I think the company just took my 5 dollars. Any way now I am all grown up and have many penpals. I email them all the time. So you are right pen pals now contact each other in email now. I love that I can talk to people all over the world it opens the door to experiences that I may not other wise have.

I've never had one...that's why I came here-to speak with others in far off corners of the world. I am sure they still exist-but most people are so busy nowadays-even on facebook-you might never get a response. I don't dream of having one anymore..I just talk with people on here-that does the trick
