Why Teen Celebrities Go Bad?

They seem to have it all- hit movies, unquestioning adulation from fans, and ridiculously hefty paychecks. And all before their 18th birthday. A dream come true? You really think so? But while there are perks, many celebrities find there's also a downside to fame and fortune. Your privacy is the first to go. Every single move is scrutinized by the fans and media-every good deed, and every misstep. For someone who was previously an unknown, it can be unnerving to have every part of your life unravelled by people you don't even know. Would you want to be like them?

nice question. maybe these teen celebrities could not cope with the other side of fame - that aside from having a lot of fans and money, everything about them can be possibly exposed. they can be scrutinized or even harassed. but that's part of being a celebrity i guess. maybe they couldn't deal with this and are overwhelmed. on the other hand some maybe be blinded by fame that they think they can do anything and "get away with it" or are immuned to public scrutiny.
maybe all of these are because they weren't mature enough to understand what it is to be a celebrity and they had different expectations.

Hi, life as a teenager has its own complexities. Maybe these teenager celebrities forget how to navigate their way through real life and you are right; they're not quite ready for a teen rubbing elbows with mostly adults. Many of them are probably not prepared for the aspects of the job that go beyond singing or acting.

Hi, pressure perhaps to stay popular all the time; it's a need to belong, to be recognized, and to be independent. The celebrity status and money don't always help a lost teenager find her in the world. Thanks for responding.

no, I would definitely not like to be like them…nor would I want my child to be a teenage sensation. Despite all the money and adulation and fans and fame, such teenage sensations lose the simple joys of teenage years which will never come back to them. Also, success goes to their head and they are too immature to handle it properly. In many cases, parents who act as their ‘managers’, actually further exacerbate the situation as they want to fulfill their own dreams and ambition thru their children. So instead of protecting the kids from the limelight, parents actually push and prod them further. In many cases, such teenage prodigies fizzle out by the age of 20/21 and then frustration and other bad habits take over leading to their ultimate ruin.

Yes you're right, it's sometimes some of the parent mistakes. They pressure their children just to earn money. I think these parents need to be educated regarding a child's rights. Thank you for the response.

Well said; but these celebrities are working hard but as many of them are beginning to discover, being teenagers with such high profile and high-paying jobs is not easy. Life as a teenager already has its own complexities. You are beginning to explore life in a different way trying to find out who you are and how you fit into this world. Thanks for the response.

Teen celebrities sometimes go overboard maybe because of pressure and stressed plus the fact that they are constantly hounded by the press and fans, they felt like their lives gone a roller-coaster ride and most of them wanted to get out for some relaxation but sometimes they gone too far by being so wild. People noticed them more, with their misdeed perhaps, than ordinary teenage girls because they are celebrities and the press easily noticed them.

hi mrrecedlegurpa I think it depends on the girl to start out with as some I think were a bit trashy like Paris Hilton and Lindsey Lohan
and others seem to weather everything and come out the same as
always. The Hannah Montana girl seems to be doing okay.

hi mercedlegurpa oh yes indeed she really does and that makes
a lot of difference I would think. As for Paris Hilton I think the money she has tons of have gone to her head for sure.

Hi, I think their problems start when their "real self" is perceived to be so different from their "ideal self". Thanks for responding.

I think they axhieve too much too quickly. They don't know how to handle what theh have. When it starts to fade away, they are panicked.
