If you have ever read the actual book, then the remake of Alice in Wonderland is quite interesting. It is missing certain things, like the mock trial with the tortoise and griffith, and the story of the walrus and the oysters. I missed those from the movie though, but additions like the Jabbawookie gave A.I.W. a whole new plot to follow. I love Johnny Depp's mad hatter in this movie. He plays it with his usual affinity for strange characters, and then adds an emotional complexity to the character that is hard to get over. Would you watch this remake, or have you already watched it?

There was an element of adventure in this portrayal of Alice, and I think that it was a well played move to change Alice's character that way as well. In this day and age, teenage girls need someone strong and focused to see in movies, as well as or possibly more than stupid (or seemingly stupid), shallow, and overly feminine/gauche girls. This character was a more relatable and modern one, while at the same time breaking a pattern that many teenage female characters seeming to be falling into.

My favorite scene is the tea party scene haha.
This version was pretty good and i did not want to miss a thing when I was watching it.
I liked all the things that were added it made you think of a new plot.
One thing though that I am not sure of is. What is that big cat at the beginning that scratches alice?

I did like this version! That wasn't a big cat. It was a dog-like creature called the bandersnatch. It was from the book and first movie where that bulldog that is just strolling through the park/forest happens to put Alice's life in danger.

One of the highlights in this film is Helena Bonhma Carter where she pronounced the word idi*t to IDAYEET!!! She's very effective and also credits to Anne Hathaway. This movie shows the versatility of the two actresses.
I missed the book though. Maybe I'll look for it one of these days so that I could compare it from the film. =)
Cheers!

You should. The two are similar, but certain characters gain more depth in the movie. I do love that part of the movie, but I like the part where the hatter exposes all of the fake "assets" that the Red Queen's court were using.

Have you seen the movie in 3d? It is better. It is so realistic that it is like creatures are reaching you
It is good that they made changes to the storyline and made it in a modern way. Somewhat generations are passed to the younger ones to continue their legacy
