When will rotating brownouts end here in Mindanao?

I guess other places are experiencing it,too. I strongly believe that the brownouts really have something to do with the elections. So I assume and hope that after May 10 every thing will go back to normal. Or will it? I don't like blaming El NiƱo anymore for this. I hope and pray that there will be no more power failure anymore - after the elections and forever.

I hate it when they blame the el nino for the brownout. I don't really feel the El Nino here in Mindanao. I almost monitor the weather here since it is part of my business. But then again I think that rainfall here is just normal. In April alone I think rainy days is just as almost as the sunny days. And since yesterday it is raining here. I also suspect the this is election related brown out, I'm not sure let's wait and see after the election. It's almost four months now since we experience at least 5 hour rotational brownouts, and it really sucks guy not just because of incovenience but also because the electricity bill is not dropping. They even raised their rate to about 1 piso per kilowat hour. What a face, they still have the guts to increase the rate!!!

That's the worst thing there. We were confident that our electric bills will go down because of the everyday brownouts. But what happened is completely the opposite - our bills even went high and almost touched the sky. That's what you call UNFAIR. They're taking advantage of the situation and especially of the people. I know one day karma will take place. Let's just wait and see.

Brown outs are common because mindanao rely mostly on hydro power to generate electricity. It's worse now because river are drying up. A colleague went on vacation there a few days ago and he said it's around 5 - 6 hours in day which don't sound fun at all. This will continue until the rains start pouring. It will only worsen the situation this coming elections. Brown out is a normal occurence in mindanao.

Well it was during my time but maybe it does not apply to all the places since Mindanao is big. There were brown outs before but not as long as what you are experiencing now. But, I can only speak as far as lanao del sur is concerned because that's where i graduated college.

I am saddened that you have to experience there continues power interruptions to this day. I heard from the news that they are planning to have a 3 days continuous brownout for them to store enough power reserves for the May 10 elections.

we also experienced it here in Lapu-lapu city. It sometimes give trouble at work for we only rely on our computer. It there's a power failure, we have to do make up class. It's bothersome really. And I believe it has something to do with elections and I am slso hoping that after the elections no more frequent brownouts.

We are thankful that we've not experienced brownout here in Cebu City for a week now. And we have only shorter scheduled brownout but it happened for I think its past one month now.
