Will a Cold Affect My 5K Time?

So now I've got a horrible cold, and on Saturday I'm running a 5K. I tried running today and only went 2 miles, at 10K pace and it was still pretty hard but I wasn't really trying to go any faster than that. I just wanted to see how bad this cold would be especially now that it is already so hot here (I tend to feel better if it's actually cold outside). It's hard to say if it hurt my training pace at all.
I'm hoping I can will myself through it. I know I'll finish, I was just really hoping I can set a new PR and get a good time for the group.

hi pigglies. yes, it would affect your 5k time. you run today 2 miles at 10K pace. it already showed that your cold has affected your run. just hope that come Saturday you'll feel much better for your 5K run. Good luck!
