renting refs, worth it or not??

in most PTC sites, you can rent referrals if you cant directly refer someone. as i have reviewed and seen most comments, there are mixed reviews. some are disappointed, some are happy to get more money in a daily basis. so what do you think is renting a referral worth it or not???
