HELP!!! My Vista is not working, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

It only display the welcome screen for about 3 hours now and is stuck. I shut down and restart but still the same problem.
Do you have any ideas for me .........

i think the culprit is the automatic updates that fail to complete ins't it? i have the same problem before but i just install windows xp and the files with vista was not erased.

somehow the files remained. i thought they were erased. during the xp installation it ask what partition to setup windows i chose a blank one then that was the first time that i ever breathed deeply.

Try to restart it by loading the boot up options. Restart it and press F8 several times til you get as screen with several options on it. You should be able to see there several options. Safemode, Safemode with networking, last known good configuration.. etc. select one and if it still doesn't work try another one.
If this still fails, you might want to go dive and check into your hardware.

Hi Edzornam,
Before attempting to do anything drastic like reinstalling windows, remove any external storage devices first if there's any (e.g. flash drives, external hdd, sd cards and disc in the dvd drive) then restart the computer again. If nogo, try removing other usb devices except for the mouse and keyboard and try restarting. Hope this helps.
