Globe Telecoms II

I am making a new discussion to report to my friends here in mylot what has happened between me and Globe Telecoms. My friends and those who responded to my discussion may notice that I have not been able to give any response back. Well, this is because I don't have any services yet and Globe Telecoms is insisting that I pay P2200 (close to $50) even if I have no dialtone and my internet is erratic.
I refuse to pay. Even if this means that they will not restore my service, not that it was working anyway. No one is even making any return calls, technical support or billing, even when I requested for it more than two days ago already. Now I am thinking of contacting the media in order to expose their scam because I am not the only one affected. There are so many subscribers here in my village and I know that a lot of us are refusing to pay Globe for non-existent service.

A lot of subscribers here in my village are experiencing the same problems that I have. So getting media attention might change their policy and hopefully restore our service. Thank you for your response.

That sounds like very bad customer service on the part of Globe. Good thing we did not choose to subscribe to their internet service. I think you should put your complaint in writing so that there will be tangible evidence of what transpired. I hope someone from Globe might see this discussion and try to address your problem. Otherwise this is going to be one big bad publicity for Globe.

I don't think they mind as long as they earn big money. Thank you for your response.

I suggest you write an email to the National Telecommunications (NTC) and complain to them what Globe has done to you. My brother did, and a few hours later it was Globe which called us and he monitored the work that was done on our problem. Although until now they have not made the adjustments.

I have just learned from my lawyer that we don't have any existing laws that cover this concern of our where the telecoms can charge as they please. NTC can only receive the complaints, but as to enforcing the telecoms to do something they don't do that. Thank you for your response.

You know what? I'm already having second thoughts on applying a postpaid plan at Globe. We like the service of Sun Cellular but the main problem is its signal outside the city. But thanks for sharing this concern. It's an eye-opener. Hope every thing will be settled between you and Globe.

Try to compare products first before subscribing. Because I have learned the hard way that we, consumers, have no back up against these telecom providers. Thank you for your response.

Good morning~
I'm sorry you're having so much trouble with your internet service. We're having a problem, too; it's not the same one as what you're experiencing, but we have another company trying to force us to pay them money we shouldn't have to!
I'm not familiar with Globe Telecoms II. Are they in the US? The UK?
Hope you're able to work this out!
Have a great day,

similar thing happened to me but with PLDT teletipid. After the storm last year our phone had no dial tone. i contacted them to ask for assistance and said they will check on it. nothing happened even if i followed up. funny because pldt is just beside us. after 2 months i followed up again and they said that i should load our account first before they send a technician. i told them i will only load if they have checked it and that dial tone is restored. my previous load was forfeited because i couldnt use it, so why should i add load right? so i appealed again and explained. the next day i followed up and they said my line is due for disconnection because i didn't put any load in my account. i told them, "oh well, good riddance!!!"

why not, the media people are more interested with this kind of problems, involving big companies and the people. like what i have said in the other thread, you can switch to smart when this problem of yours with globe is through.

I've also experienced that. For almost a month, we have no dial tone and our internet connection is erratic. What's your location? Sometimes, call service representatives will say that its because of your location. I live in Makati and I don't think there's a problem with the connection here. I've complained and they said they will adjust my monthly bill. One month of no dial tone and erratic internet and they only gave a 40 pesos of discount. I don't think it's fair. I want to have my connection cut but we still have a contract with Globe Telecoms. I still need to deal with them for the next 10 months. Now, there's two internet connection in our house. I got PLDT's 999 promo with landline. We know have a fast and continuous internet connection. PLDT is much better than Globe. Well, i don't know in your area.

I think you better do that, you must all file complaint and act full force. If I were in your situation, i would not pay them either... Why would I pay if I am not getting any service from them? I am not properly entertained too... Well I think they are giving you a big headache! Sorry to her your experience.
I am glad I don't have any experience like that.
