I hate having to buy new clothes, I just recently lost alot of weight, and I'm still trying to wear my old clothes..lol. My husband keeps telling me I need to shop for new clothes ones that aren't so baggy on me, but I hate to, I don't like having to try them on, and most of the time they still don't fit right. What does she do with all the clothes she buys every week? Does she ever wear them all? I think its a waste of money too, I think you just need a few good outfits, and ones that are your everyday clothes, that are comfortable.

Would you believe me that I haven't bought any new clothes since 2008? I did not buy any new things for me... though I received some gifts but not that shelled out from my own pocket. One of the reason was I didn't have money. Maybe if I have money I can buy a new one. Some people are compulsive buyer, when they go on shooping they will buy the things they want even they don't need it.

i am quite fortunate as i am still in full time work. and there we have to wear business dress for work. like a suit with a plain blue , black or cream top. So i don't have to worry about what i wear during the day. but if i do buy clothes, its usually jeans or trousers and t shirts or shirts. i go mad about every 6 months and spend out on clothes , like stuff for the summer holiday or an outfit to wear during christmas.

Well, dah? I bought five pair of jeans today at a garage sale and each pair was only a buck, does that count ? I hardly ever buy new clothes. I make do with what I have and since my mama passed away I'm fixing her things for me to wear. I came to OKlahoma to stay a few months but have decided to stay and I brought no summer things ! I am washing and getting my sewing machine out to fix what is wrong or I am taking a lot of these clothes to Goodwill........now, there is a place to buy if you want good clothes and help out too. Thanks, quita

This old lady also wears jeans and at our age I don't think that how we look in them is the reason we do it. They are just comfortable.

I agree it is a waste of money to buy something just to buy it. I almost never buy clothes. They aren't that important to me and I don't go out that much. I no longer work and I live alone, so it really doesn't matter what I wear. Very few people see them anyway. It is nice to have something new for a special occasion, but I get all the clothes I need as gifts. I have a friend who buys clothes and then gives them away with the tags still on them. I can't understand why she buys them in the first place. She doesn't work and doesn't go out that much but she buys dresses and stuff that she knows she'll never wear.

i am not always buying new clothes but i do like to buy clothes and since we dont have a lot of money, i generally shop at thrift stores and garage sales. it seems silly to waste a ton of money on clothes when you can get second hand (that look perfectly good) cheap.

I used to get all of my childrens clothes from garage sales aswell as car boot sales and they were great as it saved soo much money.I rarely buy myself anything as i do not feel the need after all i normally wear jeans no matter where i go.I hate to waste money aswell and like you say there are alot of nice second hand clothes that can be picked up which look like they are new.

If I could afford to I'd love to shop for clothes more frequently, but I shop for clothes when I can afford to. Especially now because I quickly outgrow the clothes I have because I'm still losing weight. All the jeans I bought myself back in February are now getting too loose and I'll need to go a size down again! But from October to February I couldn't afford to shop for clothes, so I was stuck wearing size 18 that whole time.. even though I was progressively getting smaller and smaller. In February I was in a size 12.

Well done in the weight loss.I tend to stay the same size all the time and that saves alot of money on its own.I find that there are alot of people that tend to get clothes and never wear them at all as they bought them for the sake of it and then when they are out of fashion they are binned.

I buy clothes when I need them. I never buy clothes like that every week. I think that is over spending money and wasting it. I can have shoes that last me for years so I won't go out and buy any unless I really can't use them anymore. I make sure my family gets what they need before I buy myself anything.

I agree that is the way I am. I just payed a $1 for a pair of cheap sandals for my feet for the summer. Even though I know they will hurt my toes in the long run but oh well its something to wear to keep my feet cooled off in the summer time. I just spent a good amount of money on my daughter for clothes this past week.

I love to buy new clothes, but sadly I can't afford to right now. I actually avoid going to the mall just so I can avoid the temptation of all the new shiny items in some of my favorite stores. The goal right now is to pay off all the bills first so then I can actually go shopping and actually enjoy it instead of having the first thought that comes into my head be how will i pay for this.

I love having many clothes as each woman I suppose but in fact I don't buy any expensive stuff.I even seldom take some things from the so called second hand shops.I think not the name of the designer is important as most of the people have no idea of labels but your taste of combining colours and styles.

unfortunately, i admit that im that kind of woman... im a shopoholic to some extend and i cannot control myself... i used to buy things i know i will never use. i used to buy dress that will never fits my figure... i am so addicted to shopping that i hide several bags of clothes that are totally new in my wardrobe. and this bad habit is since i was 14 years old. in fact, i do hate myself on this point. i like you as you know what you want and you can control yourself to make your money the most... im so sad that i cannot control my addiction in shopping and i felt so sad when i watch the movie "shopoholic". i felt that i wont get a good result if keeping on this way... after all, i do agree with you that this is a waste of money from every aspect. tell you something, i know a man who buys himself new clothes at least once a week... crazy!!!

I know a good friend and he likes to shop every day for clothes but he do have alot of money so he can afford to do that where as the people that i know do not have the money yet they still shop like there is no tomorrow.I prefer to use my money for other things that we need as there is no need for lots of clothes.

Goodness me no!! I don't know when I last bought something new, I probably have knickers older than half the people on this site!!! I only ever buy new clothes for special occasions like weddings or if something wears out, I can't really afford to and I'm quite happy with the clothes that I have.

I find that theonly time that i buy new clothes is when my clothes are ready for the bin as they are either looking tatty or they look like they have seen better days.I ensure the rest of my family have got new clothes aswell as tidy clothes where as i would rather put my money to better use.

I do not buy clothes recently, for real because I don't have budget for that. I do buy clothes when I need that for an interview or I will be attending a party. If some of my clothes are not fit to me because I grown a lot of weight I do buy some new clothes. I just reinvent the clothes I am using for work, i just add accesories so that it will look new. I do not buy clothes for the sake of buying them or for the sake of be update in fashion.

If I see something I REALLY like, I may buy it even though I don't need it. But I don't do that a lot. Mostly I buy things when I need them rather than just because...

If I could afford it I would probably shop A LOT, but I cant. Each season I do try to buy myself something new. Like for the summer I bought two new summer shirts and a nice pair of shorts. I spent so many years just wearing t-shirts and jeans. I still love my jeans but am a little over just t-shirts. Maybe it is the age. For work I wear scrubs. Now when it comes to shoes I would go crazy! I love going to garage sales and near new shops. If you have the time you can find awesome deals. I don't always have luck for me but I get great finds for my grandchildren. My favorite to shop is at the end of a season you can find some great steals.

I only buy new dress or clothes if I need it so much. Specially if there is ocassion I need to buy new one for a fashion and change look. I just go to shopping If there is special meetings and party. But if not I just buy the basic commodity than having my new clothes. I prefer to buy for my daughters than mine. This time I used my money wisely because I always run of it then no savings.

Hijugs!! I am not that type.. I just do what I got to do. It's very rare that I buy something for myself. I'm just happy that we have all the things we need.
