I am a web designer and many clients want the SEO to be done for their websites. Now the thing is that I strongly believe for a site to float above other websites of the same subject, it should have a solid content and the website content should be periodically updated to keep the website above from other competitor websites. On the contrary, clients are not willing to do this and they just want to do plain search engine optimization by inserting keywords in the meta tags. I can do that, but I don't want to fool my clients by giving them a service which won't be result oriented. Anyone expert out their please help me.

Hi all,
SEO is something that is updating day by day. Nothing is sticky in SEO. Your strategy is quite old one, but basics are still same as before, i.e. Content is king. So, you must concentrate on contents if you want high and real traffic. I would recommend that you should go for a professional copywriter who can provide you more search able contents that will bring traffic for your client's website. i think for any business there is a need of value. what ever how much optimization you provide in your website. what ever if it comes at the very first page. you can get the visitors but not the buyers. so first of all there is a need of better content rather then optimization merely.
other thing is that. as i have analysed that every body wants his website at a very first page of search which is practically very hard in my view. And when ever i tell them the reality they get disappointed and move to another. so what and how you do this.

I am an accidental webmaster who now has his own domains and web services to sell. But as you said, it seems that my target market does not comprehend nor appreciate the benefits of a unique and compelling website. Worse, they think it's cheap or something they can do themselves.
For me, it's an uphill battle. But I am now relying on a kind of build-operate-and-transfer strategy to reach my market. I now have lots of blogs that I am developing to increase the page rank of my own domains.
But more importantly, I'd like to be able to earn from my blogs so that I can ...
Show Them the Money.

In reality for the search engine optimization for a website the main thing which is needed is to have a proper study on the search engine algorithms. This is very much essential and not only that but also the search engine algorithms keep on changing time to time. Therefore, when you hire a professional SEO you need not have to worry about these details and they are always in touch of the changes in the search engine algorithms. Thus the results that can be achieved with the help of a professional SEO is always better than trying it yourself.
