What do you expect when you are about to travel? Whether embarking on a journey to a foreign country or going out of town, we always expect to learn something from the change of environment. This weekend, I'll be out of town. This is for work purposes, with a mix of pleasure because going out of town always makes me happy. :-) Whenever I am on a trip, I expect: to learn some new language (or at least some "slang" language) to taste the delicacy/native dishes of the place to buy souvenirs that can only be bought on that place to meet new people What about you? What do you anticipate when you're going off to some foreign land?

As you may already know, I frequently go on trips because of my job. But unfortunately, the places that I go to are industrial areas which are not worth sightseeing. I also go to 'specialties' of places wherever I go. If a place is famous for something, I try to fit it in my schedule. In terms of my souvenirs, I just buy fridge magnets. It's small enough and not too expensive. And very useful on the fridge too!

So, how was the election? Was it peaceful? Have you had time to decompress yet?

Hi bounce. I have a friend who also likes buying fridge magnets as souvenirs. It's fun to check her fridge and see all those magnets representing the places she's been to. I just got back from my treat yesterday. I had a lot of fun, but I was too busy during the canvassing and too tired after. I was not able to buy souvenirs. However, I'm thankful for pictures which will serve as remembrance of my trip.

I expect to be thrilled. The scenery, the smell, the dirt. The memories and nostalgia it may evoke because of subtle connections. Strangers, definitely. And stares. I also expect to witness at least one dawn in that new place, or during the journey. Like the color of dreams and how they feel. I want this dearly.

Thank you, dear. Also, try not to expect and just experience whatever you can and will. :)

When I am about to leave for my travels I feel excited about going to a different country. I even enjoy going to destinations in my home country. I like to take photos, see the landscape, watch the wildlife, visit historical sites and buy some souvenirs. I find it fascinating to meet new people and find out about the local history. I booked my flight in December to Halifax in Canada. Over the next few weeks I planned my trip by reading books and doing on-line research. Then in February I got an email saying that my flight had been canceled due to the travel firm going out of business. I was very sad about that and within days booked a flight to Vancouver in order to make up for my loss. My flight is for June and I will come home in July. In mid April I had a clutter clearer help me sort my house. Then I saw a special deal with an estate agent. I rushed to put my house on the market by the end of April. The second viewer agreed to buy it in early May. I am hopefully going to move to a bungalow. I might end up moving around the time of my trip to Canada. If so that will be amusing, interesting and quite stressful.

I am always really happy when I am about to visit another country or a another part of my own country. I love to read about the place that I am going to visit and I love to make plans for the time I am going to spend there. I look forward to seeing a new place, visiting some of the sights, talking pictures, eating the local food and buying presents for my family and my friends. In half a year I am going to visit Romania, Bulgaria and Greece for the first time, and I am really excited about that, it is always a special feeling to visit a new place for the first time

One of the things I am after when going to new places is the beautiful sceneries, I want to capture them all, all that the place possesses that cannot be seen around the place where I am always at. I love to embrace different cultures and natures but I do not have so much anticipations instead I create something worth the moment while I am at the place, I look for ways to make every visits a memorable one, I, myself initiate friendships to new people I am going to meet, learn their cultures, capture every simple details of the place. I don't expect too much for it will only lead to disappointments when it turns out not the way we anticipated or expected it to be. I will just let things fall in its places & do something worth remembering during my stay.
