What do you think of reality TV? Has it gone too far?

There are so many reality TV shows out now, I'm a Celebrity, BiG Brother, X Factor, Britains Got Talent, Got to Dance, Strictly come dancing, Dancing with the stars, American Idol, Next Top model...so many...! Do you think they are going too far now and maybe even starting to get very boring? Would you rather watch a reality show, or a scripted show?

Reality TV has gotten too far. I agree with that. Just look at Jersey Shore for instance. How are you gonna show a girl getting punched in the face by a man in a bar? Does that make any sense. I'm pretty sure the show could of gone on without that clip. I'm not saying it's a bad show because its a funny show, but sometimes they just go too far. I'd rather watch a scripted show thought because basically reality shows are scripted, just with a wannabe hint of "life" in it.

I think that the constant rotation of characters into and out of the situations outlined by each series is the reason why it has NOT become boring (in answer to your question). But I would rather watch a reality TV show, even though what viewers see is usually far from what we would see see if reality TV was truly and totally unscripted...

While I do enjoy the likes of X Factor these programmes really have began to take over the television. They are really just cheap TV that is making certain people ( like Mr Cowell) very, very rich. Also most of them are after your money in telephone calls too. What I would like to see is a return to some good old fashioned variety shows and some really good dramas, with all the channels at our finger tips these days there really is such a lot of rubbish out there.

Yes i think it really has gone tooo far its like a constant rotation of no hopers that want there 5 minutes of fame and it really depresses me one minute its x factor the next its britians got talent and some of the acts who on earth told them that there any good they must honestly know there rubbish but that desire to have 5 minutes of fame is just too great an urge to resist its time we got back to good old quality programs
