You need not choose between the two. You can have both.
By the way, it's not accurate to just say WordPress because you may be referring to WordPress.com the free blogging service or you may be referring to WordPress the blogging software.
Since WordPress uses PHP, it's a little more complicated to customize while Blogger.com uses HTML and XML in a single template file. If you are using a free account at WordPress.com, then you cannot customize the template. You can just choose among the available templates.
P.S. WordPress.com runs the multi-user version WordPress Mu which allows the use of subdomains for blogs. If you have your own domain, I suggest downloading WordPress Mu rather than the standard single-user version.

Well if you ask me drexu07,
I had tried both platform, I think wordpress is better and you have more control over what you want to place. However, it is not wordpress.com. but I think wordpress.org.
I hope the information I have posted would be useful to you

Hi,
I use both blogger and wordpress. And for me WordPress is much better. Having said that though (like the user above me said) if you want to earn from a blog you won't be able to set up a blog at wordpress.com, instead you'll either need to get your own domain/hosting or use one of the free sites that is wordpress enabled (or runs mysql so you can upload wordpress to it) (sounds confusing but it's not really)
For me wordpress is much easier to navigate, has some great plugins that make it both more user and search engine friendly and because it offers things like categories, and permalinks etc etc makes it a better choice for seo and earning potential.

I agree with the previous comments, i.e. Blogger is generally easier to use, and can monetize it if you want. Wordpress constantly has plug-ins released, including some for SEO optimization. I use blogger, and have learnt to make the templates more professional. There are many online tutorials for Blogger optimization.

I have been using both wordpress as well as blogger and without doubt, blogger is not only easy to operate but also very easy to edit/delete.
Blogger features are easy to understand and saves you time.
Wordpress is slightly difficult and best suited for only experienced bloggers.
