Has Google Suddenly Changed The Way It Looks When You Search?

I am a bit confused about something! For some strange reason Google has changed the way my searches work.
For example, it bunches up all the results shown over to the left so the type looks all squeezed together plus there is a list down the left-hand side of the screen showing various options such as "Anytime" "All Results" "Standard View" and "Standard Results." Under all four are lists. All this could be shown before but, significantly, it wasn't FORCED UPON ME like this is.
How does everyone else feel about Google altering the way we search without our knowledge? If it starts to get on my nerves then I might defect to Bing (shock, horror) lol.

I noticed that a few days ago and i hate it. Uses space for something i don't need. At first i tried to see what i changed but looks like another stupid design. Who is so brainless to turn a great design into something that's worse than before. So many popular sites change and are worse than before. I'm like give me money you spend on someone who designed and created that c*** and live it as it was. It'll be better for you. But FORCING us to use something...i hate that so much! Like "ask" search and so on F*** you i don't want that!

I'm glad you feel the same way I do. It is frustrating when they change stuff like that without our say so. I'm wondering if there is a way to complain to them about it because not many of us are happy about the changes, that's for sure.
Hopefully, it will be resolved very soon.
