My second grade grandson is learning about punctuation and it set me to thinking (dangerous territory). The following classic statement has always gotten men and women in heated debate: "Woman without her man is nothing" How would you punctuate that little phrase and why? Be nice. em]silly[/em]

I can't puncuate that simply bc don't agree with it. How would you punctuate "Man without her Woman is nothing". Fact is simply both complement each other, Life for me without a love of a good woman is empty but doesn't mean it is nothing. Better to be alone than being stuck in a relationship you're not happy with. I know directly nothing to do with the asked question but simply there is no punctuation I would agree with not to mention the content of the sentence.

lAZZER007, Welcome to Mylot. Like you, I don't think my life would be as meaningful if I were alone. I don't know if it would be "empty." There are a lot of people who choose to be alone for whatever reason. Sometimes they do a lot of good in the world because they devote their life to doing good works for mankind. Others just never meet the soul mate they seek. Maybe if I had never met my husband I would have been one of those people. The idea of marriage certainly never crossed my mind until I met him.

well the case one is as bad as the case for the other in my book. for those trying to work it out either "Woman, without her , man is nothing" or "woman, without her man, is nothing" Honestly i don't believe anyone in nothing, but i do agree we beefit and grow through companionship and unity. perhaps it should be "separated we grow nothing more but united we flourish?" perhaps i'm beling a little nieve or just plain akward, your choice?

"Separated we grow nothing more but united we flourish." Love it! You are neither naive nor awkward. It is not a perfect world but that's why we continue to work to improve it. Welcome to Mylot.
