Someone just crossed my mind and it made me smile...and wonder. Well, This happens to everyone once in awhile. However, I just can't help myself from wondering how that person simply crossed my mind with no "early warning device". I haven't thought of that person for years, and yet, he just occupied my thoughts like in a snap of a finger.
How about you, do you wonder at one point as to how a person crossed your mind? Have you considered that he might be thinking of you at that moment? Or is it plainly your subconscious mind working?

Some say that our minds are interconnected universally. The brains work like antenna. So, if now I think of my friend, my friend may feel the electric wave message transmitted by my brain. The distance isn't matter for this wave to travel. At the same time s/he realize the wave, s/he know it's you and may think of you as well. If your relation is close enough, both of you may have stronger signal. Maybe the phenomenon of telepathy can be described by the theory of brain wave (thought).
Howver, this just a theory though, lol:D no scientific proof for this.

Hey , sometimes that happens to me. Sometimes , a friend from the pass crosses my mind and I wonder how they're doing. That's when I go into my photo album and have a good nostalgia session . Ahh..good memories. This usually happens to me , if I'm lonely, so I think I will myself to think about the past.

I also encounter this situation sometimes. I think it's kinda weird or strange that someone abruptly crosses our mind with no 'warning'. I don't know how this happens. Maybe it's just another wonder of the human body. There are lots of activities in our body that we can't recognize or take notice of. It's one of the things that amazes me.

Workings of a mind are a Mystery. Who knows :)
Generally there can be many theories. Memories are stored somewhere, one memory can lead to another(for example thats how you try to remember things). So probably one connection after the other, i=the thought popped in. Of course happened in milli sec. Other than its mysteries of your mind no further thought.
Also think how mood or the thoughts in your mind at that mind can change your view of others. So it made you smile but could've easily been any of other emotions.
