Which of the many roles that Johnny Depp has played in films do you prefer?

Amazingly, since his first film role as Glen Lantz in the 1984 'Nightmare on Elm Street', Johnny Depp has played in 48 films(that is apart from television performances). I expect that one of the roles he is most well known for is as Captain Jack Sparrow in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' series of films. But he has played such good parts in all the other films I find it pretty hard to find a best. I thought his Edward Scissorhand character was incredible but I did love his portrayal of Gilbert Grape in 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape', then there's 'Chocolat', 'Sweey Todd' there are so many. I think actually for me , it is one of his perhaps less known films - 'Finding Neverland', that would be my choice. The semi biographical film was about the scottish writer, JM Barrie, who is famous for writing 'Peter Pan', I thought that his performance in this film was wonderful and very moving. Has anyone else got any preferences and why?

i do love him for the Captain Jack Sparrow... of course he is so amazing and he does so well in almost every film he played. but Captain Jack Sparrow is definitely the kind of person i do like, a kind of crazy, nervous, and careless. similarly, i do like him in " Sweey Todd","Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and " From Hell"... He is so amazing, i am addicted to him.

I think that his accents are incredible. Some American actors just can't manage the British accent, I think he gets it just righ

Being Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean in my favorite role for Johnny Depp. That role is just so amazing which really shows his acting talent. I agree that he did well in his other movies as well.

I did not even recognized him in Nightmare on Elm Street until the end credits, maybe because he was so young at that time. Johnny Depp is a very good actor and played a pretty memorable role. I love him as Ed Wood, as Edward Scissorhand, as Don Juan De Marco. He can always make a disappearing act and becomes the character himself. He was also nominated threee times for Academy Awards for Best Actor in the movies which I also love, The Pirates of Caribbean,The Curse of the Black Pearl,Finding Neverland, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
