How do YOU think the British Government should solve their defecit?

They need to cut down on public spending, there are just TOO many people doing nothing and getting paid good money to do so. The wastage in government could feed a small country - or my son!!

I do agree that there is wastage in the government and that they should be minimized. But government is run by humans and it is the nature of human to make mistakes and overlook things. Wastage is simply not avoidable. So, rather than putting so much effort (which costs) into zero tolerance of wastage, I would say the government should really consider opening up more way of making money. Increasing tax is a way to go but almost impossible as nobody wants to pay the tax. So, rather than increasing tax directly, other means are needed such as providing expense tax relief in which money spent for whatever reason can be used to offset tax payment. This would then encourage people to spend more (to "earn" the tax relief) which will help the economy and in turn helps taxation.
